Vaccination is still the single most effective preventive health strategy we have. And right now, rates for some serious vaccine-preventable diseases are declining.

Are you exhausted and you do not know why?

Fatigue is one of the most common presentations in general practice, and also one of the most mismanaged. It gets attributed to being a mum, working too hard, not sleeping enough. Sometimes that is the answer. But often, there is something medical sitting underneath it.

March is Kidney Health Month and it is one of those health areas that rarely gets the attention it deserves until it is too late.

Kidney disease affects around 1.8 million Australians, and most of them do not know. It is a silent condition. No pain and no obvious symptoms in the early stages. By the time you feel something, the damage is often already significant.

The good news? Early detection makes a real difference. A simple blood test and urine test can tell us a lot.

Coeliac Awareness Week is the perfect reminder that coeliac disease is one of the most common autoimmune conditions in Australia (and one of the most under diagnosed).

1 in 70 Australians has coeliac disease. Around 80% of them have no idea.

It is not just a gut condition. Fatigue, brain fog, skin issues, low iron, and mood changes can all be signs. Symptoms vary enormously from person to person.

If you have been chasing answers and not getting them, it might be worth asking your GP about coeliac testing. A simple blood test is a good place to start.
