Only two days into Term 3 and our students have hit the ground running. From harvesting fresh veggies and riding horses with RDA NSW Tall Timbers Centre, to crafting for National NAIDOC Week, lantern-making, painting, lots of play, and getting their hands dirty in the garden. We are so delighted to welcome our students back.

🌏 Still time to join Plastic Free July! ♻️

At Warrah, we’re embracing the global movement to reduce plastic waste, and it’s not too late for you to join us! Small steps can help stop plastic from polluting our environment.

Here’s how you can help:
✅ Bread tags – collected for Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs
✅ Plastic bottle lids – sorted for Lids4Kids Australia
✅ 10c drink containers – recycled to support Warrah Disability Services

These programs are proudly led by our participants, and your support helps both the environment and our community thrive.

Drop off your clean bread tags, eligible lids (milk, soft drink, UHT, and water bottles under 5cm), and 10c refundable drink containers at our Farm Shop during opening hours.

Go plastic-free with Warrah! 🌿

We’re delighted to share this beautiful new podcast episode featuring our outgoing Principal, Anna Wetzel, in conversation with Andrew Hill from Steiner Education Australia

Anna reflects on her lifelong journey through Steiner Education, from her early schooling in Germany, to teaching history, literature, politics and blacksmithing! Anna later completed a teaching degree, and Masters in Special Education. She shares her deep belief in the power of Steiner Education and the values that have guided her throughout her life, and in her leadership at Warrah Specialist School.

Over the past four years, Anna has been a transformational influence at Warrah. Under her leadership, the school has been recognised as a national awardee for Special Education School of the Year, received the 5-Star Employer of Choice Award for 2025, and most recently welcomed Her Excellency, the Honourable Sam Mostyn Governor-General of Australia to our campus.

While this isn’t our official farewell, we’re so proud to celebrate Anna’s incredible journey and contribution to inclusive Steiner education.

Our high school students had an incredible day exploring the Australian National Maritime Museum at ! They discovered interactive exhibitions and even toured the submarine HMAS Onslow.

Students and staff explored ship decks, engaged in hands-on workshops, and broadened their understanding of the deep sea. It was an immersive, educational, and sensory-friendly experience.

Well done, everyone - what a wonderful way to wrap up the term! Register for our next Open Day at https://warrahspecialistschool.nsw.edu.au/arrange-a-visit/

A big thank you to Grill’d Baulkham Hills for choosing Warrah as part of your Local Matters fundraiser!

Our participants had a great time meeting the team yesterday and were thrilled to receive the certificate and cheque. Your generous support means so much to us and will go straight into programs that build life skills, support learning, and create meaningful opportunities for our students, residents and participants.

And to everyone who popped a token in the Warrah jar during February, thank you! Every vote counted, and we’re so grateful for your support 💛

Yesterday we had the honour of welcoming the Hon. Priyanca Radhakrishnan, New Zealand Labour Party’s spokesperson for Disability Issues, to Warrah.

Priyanca is currently visiting Australia to connect with Disability Support Service providers and explore shared challenges and priorities in the sector.

We were proud to share our work and insights with her, and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important trans-Tasman dialogue on improving outcomes for people with disability.

Last day of Term 2 for our students and we’re going out with a splash of colour (and a little bit of kitchen chaos)! Our senior students have been busy harvesting the beetroot and cabbage they planted at the farm earlier this term, and today they turned their homegrown produce into beautiful jars of pickles. There were smiles, laughter, learning and a whole lot of mess.

Happy holidays from all of us at Warrah Specialist School! Students return on Thursday 24 July.
