We're having workshops and tours starting again at the end of September, flowers and plants connection, farm tour, strawbale building talk, goat keeping ,cheese making, family friendly day, weaving and I am planning a smudge stick making with white sage, , and more.

French folk dance Saturday night 5.30 - 9.00 pm old Chidlow hall, old Northam road, Chidlow ( near roundabout.

No need to know any Dance, they are taught on the night.

Live accoustic music. $5 per person, bring a platter of food to share, long table dinner. .bring a friend or find a partner on the night,. Fun, easy, and dinner is always amazing.

Volunteer ran, all profits are for the Chidlow community garden and hall maintenance.

You can arrive and leave anytime.

The beauty of a sacrificial paddock is that it allows the grass to grow in your main paddocks until it has rooted enough not to be pulled out entirely when the animals graze. See the results! This year was austere for them, though, as the rain came very late... But better late than never!

The FLACKYARD RESTAURANT is opening next week at Lake Leschenaultia, and we had the chance to taste some of their creations at the opening ceremony last Saturday. The non-alcoholic drinks were outstanding, the food very special, a tasteful mingling of bush-tucker and western delicacies: from crocodile to emu native herbs to native seeds, avocados to tasty sauce, oh, everything was surprising and enticingly delightful.
Yes, it is advertisement, but only because I was so inspired by the enthusiasm of Em and Nik and their 2 children.
So yes, they are opening next weekend !
They have vegan options too, and just the setting is enough to feed a part of yourself...

Saanen pregnant does for sale, 2 years old in October, father is pure Saanen, mother is half Boer, half Saanen, and an excellent milker.

The three does are in fact three sisters born quadruplets, their brother having already left the property.

We can separate them, as long as Nancy and Henrietta stay together, but Louise can go her own way, as she doesn't mix with her two sisters much.
They all have been running with the buck two to three months ago and haven't been on hear since.

They are all extremely friendly and love social interaction, as
they were half hand raised, half under mum due to the fact of being a quad. if you scroll down into our FB page, you will see them little.

let us know if you are interested!
we are happy to share information on how to look after them. and learning to milk is easy when you keep the babies under mum so that they finish the job if you can't manage to empty the udder!
they are great pets too, and not big jumpers at all. Our fences are just above normal size.

We are running a Family Friendly Farm Day in Chidlow on our hobby farm on Wednesday the 23 Rd of April..

It is an introduction to homesteading designed for children to learn to become little farmers.

They will learn to milk the goat, watch the cow being milked, bring the milk to the house to make cheese, learn about beekeeping (without the bees) feed the chicken, check the eggs, and propagate a plant to take home.

Children need to be supervised at all times.

$110 per family, or $55 for one adult/child

I was born in a family line of horticulturists and grew up amongst rows of flowers and plants. I was naturally close to nature, and grew more intimate when I started to give healings as plants came forward to help me.

I will share with you what I learnt and how to connect with flowers and plants.

It is lovely to experience closeness and learn how to read their messages and sense their presence at a spiritual level.

Our garden offers a great diversity of herbs, flowers, bushes and trees, making it an ideal setting for those workshops.

Come and share this special time with like minded people, and enjoy healthy snacks and refreshments in our strawbale house.

Well! I was just going to present our second Daw Family Farm daughter and here she is! I found her staring at me as I opened Fb!

Hello, my name is Yamuna, I’ve been shopping at Wasteless pantry since it opened, and was very excited to join the team in March 2024!When I’m not busy at the WP, I am usually playing music (piano, piano accordion and singing), dancing (mostly bal-folk dancing), gardening, cooking/baking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. As a child, I spent a lot of time in France with my grandparents who have always been conscious of wasting as little food and other resources as possible. They taught me valuable skills such as eating as locally as possible, growing our own fruits and vegetables, making beauty and cleaning products from natural ingredients, and generally caring for our precious environment in whatever ways I can.
There are so many products from the Wasteless Pantry that as I use and love, but I think the range of DIY beauty products and teas are among my favourites.
One piece of advice for those who want to live a more waste-free lifestyle is: don’t try and do everything at once - build slowly starting with small things, whatever feels most achievable to you, whether that is investing in a reusable coffee cup or making your own bread, it’s a start and that’s what counts! Find something you get excited to do every day and keep building on that and eventually you’ll find your own version of a Wasteless lifestyle!!

I am presenting the Greater Celandine here, a beautiful, yet humble plant, rare I believe, As I saw it only once for sell at a local market - and I bought it straight away of course!
It is powerful when it comes to heal warts. Dabbed on once a day for a week or perhaps two will cure the wart. I know this from experience. In our countryside, we had two folk medicine for wart: celandine or a red slug cut in two, and the cut part was to be applied to the wart... How lovely! For my part I prefer the celandine. There are two types of celandine, so if you check on the internet, do not be misled. This one is the Greater Celandine or chelidonium majus. It is poisonous even in small quantities when ingested, and not for pregnant women. But it has diverse beneficial properties if given by a professional. I just like this little humble plant.
