Did you know muscle tension and mobility directly impact each other, whether you're a horse or a human?
When muscles become tight or restricted, they limit our movement and flexibility, making daily tasks or athletic performance challenging. For horses, restricted muscles can significantly affect their gait, responsiveness, and overall comfort, likewise for humans, it can impact posture, performance, and quality of life.
Muscle tension often results from stress, repetitive movements, poor posture, or injury, causing discomfort, stiffness, and reduced physical capabilities. If left unaddressed, this tension can even lead to chronic discomfort and increased risk of injury.
This is why the EMMETT Technique is so powerful! Using gentle, precise pressure on specific points, the EMMETT Technique quickly releases muscle tension, enabling both humans and horses to move with greater ease, enhancing posture and overall performance.
When riders address their own muscle tension, their improved posture and relaxation directly benefit their horse, creating a more harmonious partnership. Happier, more comfortable riders mean happier, more comfortable horses!
Ready to EXPERIENCE the benefits of the EMMETT Technique for yourself or your horse or would you like to LEARN how to treat your own horse or your family and friends?

Our most popular Ghost saddle… The Buttera!
Our customers love the armchair-level comfort and security with that deep seat and high pommel. However they also love that it puts them in a correct riding position!
Perfect for trail, arena, endurance or even mounted archery, this DEEP SEATED saddle can do it all.
Handmade in Italy, Ghost saddles are lightweight (less than 5kg), modular treeless saddles made up of three parts:
1.The flexible base - with several width and flexibility options available to suit uber wide horses like gypsy cobs through to narrow TBs.
2.The panels - which velcro on and off to allow for perfect positioning and fit and also offer all important spinal clearance.
3.The seat - choose the popular Buttera style or from dozens of others to create your perfect ride.
The Ghost Saddles have been designed by a team of leading Treeless Saddle experts. It is a versatile saddle that fits and adapts to an extraordinary variety of horses. They are surprisingly affordable for a custom, handmade saddle and have a fast production time.
They are available in many different leather options from the soft, grippy suede to oiled nubuck or nappa, plus synthetic / vegan friendly materials. There are literally dozens of colour options available too!
Have you got a Ghost Buttera Saddle? Tell us what you love about it or get in touch with me to find out more and design your dream saddle!

What is Emmett? The Emmett Technique, created by Ross Emmett, is a gentle light touch therapy that is used to ease muscle pain, tension and discomfort, increase movement and bring balance back to the body and mind. Well established in more than 35 countries worldwide the Technique is used on both humans and animals.
How does it work? The Emmett Technique uses specific sensors on the skin (Emmett points) which allow access to the brain via the therapist’s touch. The stimulation of these points is registered by the receiver’s nervous system and their brain responds by sending new instructions back to affect the physical state of the localised area. The result is often instantaneous physical change. (emmett-technique-hq.com)
How can it help my horse?
Some of the symptoms which may be relieved include:
Saddle soreness and girthing issues
Tension in neck, back and lumbar area
Restricted movement
Unbalanced or stiff gait or stance
Sports injuries or accidents
Poor performance and behavioural change
Anxiety and emotional release
How is it different to other body work? The Emmett Technique is a neuro-muscular therapy which works with the horse’s nervous system. The Emmett corrections facilitate your horse to release its own tight and painful muscles, altering negative muscle memory and providing a long lasting result.
How does Emmett improve emotional wellbeing? As well as the ability to directly influence muscle action, Emmett points may have a memory or emotional attachment. Treatment is extremely relaxing for your horse and can facilitate the release of emotions and past experiences, improving wellbeing. I always encourage the owner to handle their horse during an Emmett session as it can be a profound bonding experence, improving trust and harmony in your relationship.
