We couldn’t make it to the Ekka this year – so we brought the Ekka to us! 🎡🎯
Residents had a fantastic time with games like Pluck a Duck, Knock ’Em Downs, and even a shooting gallery. They enjoyed classic Ekka treats including dagwood dogs and fairy floss, and everyone went home with their very own showbag. 💛 Lots of fun and laughter all round!

Today, Forest View was honoured to be part of the wreath laying ceremony in remembrance of our Vietnam veterans, the brave soldiers, dedicated nurses, and their families. Your courage, sacrifice, and strength will never be forgotten. Lest we forget.

Today we dressed in our denim and blues for a great cause — Jeans for Genes Day! 👖💙

We proudly supported the Children's Medical Research Institute, helping raise funds for children living with genetic disorders. Did you know that 1 in 20 Aussie kids are born with a genetic condition? We were glad to do our part today to support such an important cause.

We enjoyed a denim-themed morning tea together and shared some fun denim facts — like this one: around 7.5 billion feet of denim is produced every year! 😲👕

A big congratulations to one of our residents who took out the win in our raffle! 🎉

🎄 What a Fantastic Day at the Woodgate Club – Christmas in July! 🎅

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Christmas in July at the Woodgate Beach Club! From the amazing entertainment by local school students, best-dressed fun, raffles, and even a surprise visit from Santa — it was a day full of joy and festive cheer.

The meal was absolutely beautiful, and everyone had a fantastic time.

A huge thank you to the team at the Woodgate Beach Club for hosting us so warmly. We truly appreciate your hospitality and look forward to seeing you again next year!

🎉 Pyjama Day at Forest View! 💤

Today our amazing staff and residents rolled into the day in their pyjamas — all to support a great cause: children living in foster care.

It certainly brought smiles, laughter, and plenty of conversation to our home, with residents loving the fun and heart behind it all.

So if you spot any of our team wandering around town in their PJs — don’t worry, they haven’t forgotten to get dressed… it’s all for a good cause! 😄💙

Congratulations to our beautiful receptionist Jacqui on the safe arrival of her precious little bundle.
Our hearts are full, and our cheeks are sore from smiling so much at this gorgeous little girl. 💗

🌿 NAIDOC Week 2025 – Keep the Fire Burning! 🔥

This week, we proudly join the nation in celebrating NAIDOC Week, honouring the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The 2025 theme, “Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud,” is a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and enduring spirit of First Nations communities across Australia.

At Forest View Care, we recognise the importance of truth-telling, cultural connection, and walking together towards a more inclusive future. This week—and every week—we are committed to learning, listening, and showing respect.

As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, we shared in the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture with a week full of meaningful activities.

🌿 We listened to Dreamtime storytelling,
🧠 Took part in some fun and educational cultural trivia, and
🎉 Enjoyed a lively game of Indigenous Australian Bingo!

🌟 Fellow in Yellow Safety Day at Forest View 🌟

What a fun-filled and meaningful day we had yesterday celebrating Fellow in Yellow here at Forest View!

Our amazing kitchen team put on a delicious BBQ lunch, and we were honoured to receive a powerful Indigenous cultural safety message from local Childers Elder Jenny. The Board of Directors and Management also shared some heartfelt words on the importance of workplace safety and looking out for one another.

A big shoutout to our Maintenance team, who created an engaging mock hazard setup in the courtyard—what a fun and educational way to highlight safety awareness! The whole place was glowing with yellow decorations, bringing energy and unity to the day.

🎉 Congratulations to the four staff members who won vouchers from the Board for their best dressed Fellow in Yellow costumes—you all looked fantastic!
