🎉 Pyjama Day at Forest View! 💤

Today our amazing staff and residents rolled into the day in their pyjamas — all to support a great cause: children living in foster care.

It certainly brought smiles, laughter, and plenty of conversation to our home, with residents loving the fun and heart behind it all.

So if you spot any of our team wandering around town in their PJs — don’t worry, they haven’t forgotten to get dressed… it’s all for a good cause! 😄💙

We were blessed with a surprise visit from the surprise baby today!
Congratulations to our beautiful receptionist Jacqui on the safe arrival of her precious little bundle.
Our hearts are full, and our cheeks are sore from smiling so much at this gorgeous little girl. 💗

🌿 NAIDOC Week 2025 – Keep the Fire Burning! 🔥

This week, we proudly join the nation in celebrating NAIDOC Week, honouring the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The 2025 theme, “Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud,” is a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and enduring spirit of First Nations communities across Australia.

At Forest View Care, we recognise the importance of truth-telling, cultural connection, and walking together towards a more inclusive future. This week—and every week—we are committed to learning, listening, and showing respect.

As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, we shared in the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture with a week full of meaningful activities.

🧠 Took part in some fun and educational cultural trivia, and
🎉 Enjoyed a lively game of Indigenous Australian Bingo!

🌟 Fellow in Yellow Safety Day at Forest View 🌟

What a fun-filled and meaningful day we had yesterday celebrating Fellow in Yellow here at Forest View!

Our amazing kitchen team put on a delicious BBQ lunch, and we were honoured to receive a powerful Indigenous cultural safety message from local Childers Elder Jenny. The Board of Directors and Management also shared some heartfelt words on the importance of workplace safety and looking out for one another.

A big shoutout to our Maintenance team, who created an engaging mock hazard setup in the courtyard—what a fun and educational way to highlight safety awareness! The whole place was glowing with yellow decorations, bringing energy and unity to the day.

🎉 Congratulations to the four staff members who won vouchers from the Board for their best dressed Fellow in Yellow costumes—you all looked fantastic!

Pirates & Princesses Morning Fun!

What a fun and entertaining morning we had with the Isis Child and Family Playgroup for our Pirates & Princesses day! The room was filled with laughter as we enjoyed some lively table games, a daring “walk the plank” challenge, and even our very own treasure hunt. A big thank you to the playgroup for coming to visit us—we always treasure your company and look forward to your next visit in September!

This Morning’s Activities 🌞

Today we took a lovely trip down memory lane with an old-fashioned quiz and trivia session, sparking lots of laughs and stories. We were especially lucky to enjoy a special Antique Presentation from our very own Maintenance Manager, John.

John generously shared pieces from his wonderful personal collection, and it certainly brought back a few treasured memories for many of us.

Who doesn’t love a Queensland winter?

This week we’ve made the most of our beautiful weather, enjoying many outdoor activities and soaking up the wonderful sunshine.

Our talented kitchen staff treated everyone to a delicious BBQ lunch, and we were delighted to have our local entertainers serenade us as we relaxed in the sunshine.

It’s been a week filled with fresh air, warm sunshine, and plenty of smiles — a perfect reminder of how lucky we are to enjoy Queensland’s winter days!

Good Afternoon Childers Community, we are calling out for anyone who would like to volunteer their time to drive our medical transport community bus🏆. We want to utlise this great asset to assist our senior locals who may not drive longer distances and need to attend specialist medical appointments. You only require a normal drivers license and we are happy to pay for required background checks. Our friendly staff will provide you with an induction around the how to's and our appreciation is immense. We operate on weekdays during business hours and costs vary based on 0.40 cents per KM.
