Lanie Meyer: Counselling & Workshops

Lanie Meyer: Counselling & Workshops My name is Lanie. As a counsellor and creative artist living with Periodic Paralysis, a rare condition I know first hand how challenging life can become.

I love to offer you a safe space where you can find solutions and live an empowered life. Hi, my name is Lanie and I am currently working as a counselor and workshop facilitator. My Diploma in Counselling was a natural follow-up to my initial Bachelor of theatre and Dramatic Arts with a minor in Psychology. Throughout my life, I have been on a journey to understand myself and my chronic pain which

I have lived with for over 30 years. This lived experience has driven my passion for helping others with Chronic Pain and bringing people together to renew our perspective and approach towards our own pain. Finding diagnosis and understanding prognosis. Registered as a Level 2 Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association as of 2024.

DECIDE👀
An effective way to deal with problems popping up in life🤗

Structured problem solving is a practical technique for tackling problems and creating action plans.

The goal isn’t to achieve a perfect solution, but a practical and realistic plan.

It can help people with anxiety or depression who may struggle with decision-making, procrastination or feeling overwhelmed.

We recommend people use the D.E.C.I.D.E approach to problem solving, which can be a useful skill for addressing everyday challenges.

Here’s how to use it:

🗓 D – Define: Clearly identify the specific problem. Focus on one issue at a time.

🗓 E – Explore: Brainstorm all possible solutions without judgment. Get creative!

🗓 C – Choose: Weigh up the pros and cons, then choose a solution that is readily applied and which is not too difficult.

🗓 I – Identify: Break down the solution into clear, actionable steps. Plan what needs to be done.

🗓 D – Do it!: Put your plan into action and track your progress.

🗓 E – Evaluate: Review the outcome, learn from it, and adjust if necessary.

Take care 💛

I needed time to reflect after losing Bea so abruptly. I am happy to announce that I will take on new clients from May 2025. You will be able to book online, and sessions will also be online. You can come for a chat in the comfort of your own home, giving you some time back to do the things you love. 🤗
