Hi everyone, we have been nominated for this year's Onkaparinga Business Awards.

It has been a challenging year with myself (Bianca) having a lot of medical challenges but with an amazing team at hand we continued to support, grow and stay in our values of Connection through Kindness. And for that I am so grateful for Bright Star, our families and the continual growth professionally and personally.

We are super excited to announce that we have capacity to support!

Excited to share our next Dungeons and Dragons Campaign program.

We have a few spots still available so if you are keen please reach out to Elah as per flyer.

It is great fun and the last session there is always a possibility of dressing up as your character to end it all.

It is with a heavy heart, we have decided to close the doors to support coordination. Our final date to allow for a smooth transition is 31st July 2025. We would like to thank Katherine for all the hard work she has put into supporting our clients for the past 12 months. For Bright Star this will allow us to re-focus on the growth of support work and opening our books once again to support work both for clients and for employment.
I (Bianca) am excited to bring in new programs, workshops and more.

Wanted to share this. Not for people to say wow you’re amazing etc but to show being a business owner is hard work. I truly put my heart and love and passion into my business. Feeling fragile after a long week and looking forward to a weekend with my children and getting my cup filled.

I hope each of you have a beautiful weekend and are able to have a sparkle of joy and hope that fills your cup also.

OK so I am doing a thing!!

Hi all, Bianca here. Tomorrow our office will be closed as I am one of the panelists.

I am excited and i will admit anxious about speaking but my passion continues to be about making changes and embracing inclusion within the workplace, within education and out in the community.

This post is very near and dear to my (Bianca) heart. It has taken some time due to needing permissions etc.

Last year I (Bianca), and 2 other allied health professionals Meg from Diverse Learning and Carrie from CJM Psychology went on a trip to Bali. Here we attended the Bali Disability Learning Centre "Yayasan Widya Guna, Bali" and were able to teach, learn and discover with these amazing humans.

I want to thank everyone who donated items for us to take along. The staff were so appreciative, and the children were full of smiles and delighted.

It was a humbling experience for us, and we look forward to going back and spending more time there working together with kindness, compassionate and building connections to work collaboratively.

It can be really hard to have family outtings together due to the many needs of every household member. It is ok to ask your support to come along and support to make the day success. And this is exactly what Aleesha did! Those smiles and the team work together make our jobs as support workers so worth it!

This delicious cake was thoroughly enjoyed by Lilly's family. Thank you Eryka for supporting Lilly of baking with a mouth-watering end result of a chocolate cake!!

It can be really challenging to try to organize activities for your support worker and you do to. The planning, ensuring you have the materials and much more. Did you know it is ok to speak to your support worker and explain that you struggle with the executive functioning of organizing things and ask them to send you a message with some options before shifts and pre-plan other shifts together.

Here we see our worker Elah has organized an activity with her client and gave the space to be creative, to support as needed, and to gently talk without the pressures of eye contact, spotlight attention on you etc.
