Each moment of our life gifts us with a grand invitation to explore the freedom of choice, even if at the time we don't feel we have one, or are afraid to take a leap of trust and faith.

At times we may feel that a choice is made for us, yet the truth of it is, if it has manifested it into our life, we are the creator of that experience.

Throughout our life people will flow in and out over the passage of time. These connections may encompass family, intimate relationships, friendships, work colleagues, or people who hold similar values to us.

Sometimes they stay for a while, sometimes a lifetime.

However they are forged, a question to ask is: “Am I hitching my wagon to someone else’s horse?”

By that I mean, are you expressing your truth with your connections?

OR

Are you following along someone else’s path? Responding and interacting with people from a place of need, perhaps to feel safe, love, validation. All the while a quiet, underlying feeling whispers “You’re not being your most authentic self”.

Are there things you don’t feel confident to say for fear of being judged or misunderstood?

Are there actions you’re taking that feel somehow “wrong” to you?

Are there moments of unease? When you know you’re not being honest with yourself.

Are there times when your inner voice says “this isn’t who I am, this isn’t what I want”?

Well, you are not alone. Personally, I’ve hitched my wagon to many horses that weren’t mine and each time the same outcome arose … It just didn’t work.

Generally we do this in the hope of “fitting in” or being accepted, but we end up on a trail that isn’t ours.

What if, even just for a moment, you allowed yourself to feel confident to be you? The real you, not the false self that you created to appease, fit in, blend.

Have you ever stopped to consider what seeds your happiness?

✖️ Physical health?
✖️ What I own?
✖️ How many friends I have?
✖️ Community status?
✖️ What I do for others?

Then I encourage you to look at how you’ve set up your “happiness barometer”.

If you’re pinning your happiness on external experiences, interactions or physical items, you could be missing the point.

The truth of it is this: you will never find true, life changing happiness if it’s based on anything external to you, anything physical, or any action you think you need to take for validation on any level.

True happiness is seeded within and emanates from the CORE OF YOU: Your inner world; your self; your heart; the REAL YOU and it isn’t guided by or in response to anything in your external, be it positive or not so.

When you align with it, it has the capacity to change absolutely everything in your personal world.

So instead of seeking happiness through things or experiences, FIND IT WITHIN YOU. It has always been there, sitting underneath the distracting ego/mind ideology that we must search for, fight for, force, fake and never quite reach it.
