I have been struggling with softening for so long. With surrendering and trusting that all will be okay. Through years of this, I have found that resisting only brings more resistance, and that in trying to ‘control’ outcomes, I am creating more struggle, fear and feelings of helplessness, feeling like the hamster on the wheel.
Recently I read something that struck such a chord within me. It went something like, “If only you knew how little time you had, maybe you’d do things differently.”
This landed so deeply and with such impact. These simple but profound words. They really got me thinking. Not about the impermanence of time, or how little or much of it I may have, but more about how wisely I use it. About how impactful this time could be.
This has led me with such gratitude to the thought of, ‘what would love do?’ Four words that have changed my life 🙏
It’s certainly not easy, and it is a daily practice for me, but now when faced with adversity, challenging behaviour, things deemed to be unjust, I ask myself, what would love do? And it helps me to take a breath, not take things so personally and choose from a place of love 💗
I am forever grateful for this life and for the things that bless my path with growth and healing ❤️🩹
Gratitude to Trina Graves for this beautiful poetic offering 💗
When faced with a decision
Not knowing which way to go
Choices lay before you
Confusion blocks your flow
Worrying about the wrong one
Puts a frown upon your brow
Just ask yourself the question
What Would Love Do Now?
All experiences are beneficial
Even the bad ones play a part
They can break down the barriers
To open up your heart
No matter what the problem
You can get through it somehow
By asking yourself the question
What Would Love Do Now?
Whether just beginning your path
Or seeing the end in sight
It’s your course that you follow
Only you know what is right
Which twist or turn to take ahead
Rest now or onward plough
Always ask yourself the question
What Would Love Do Now?
A negative side has to exist
For the positive to simply be
So you can always take that view
And a darker side you’ll see
But if you choose the Light
A channel of Love you allow
You’ll embody with each step
What Love Would Do Now
