In my naturopathic clinic I see PMDD a lot. It's often worse after you have kids too! It is always best to go and find out what your hormones are doing and also how busy your days are compared to before, the stress is a lot. I've had really good success with supporting women with PMDD.

Really it's about how your brain responds to normal hormonal changes, especially after ovulation. That drop in estrogen and the rise and fall of progesterone can trigger a cascade of mood symptoms which can be supported naturally.

Annnd you don't know if you have PMDD but you just don't feel like you some of the cycle, common symptoms are:

Intense mood swings
Irritability
Anger
Feelings of hopelessness
Emotional outbursts
Confusion
Brain fog
Forgetfulness
Social withdrawal

It usually happens in the second half of your cycle and is 10x worse than PMS 😭 if you'd like to feel better, shoot me a message I can book you in for a zoom consult 💻

A 2020 study confirmed a link between elevated TSH &/or thyroid antibodies with infertility and low ovarian reserve.

Before conceiving it's recommended to have thyroid antibodies checked, as there are many natural ways to lower them such as myo-inositol, adequate selenium, going gluten free and looking at heavy metal toxicity.

If you'd like to organise pathology to test your thyroid function (not just TSH) please comment below or message, you don't need to be in Perth to do this either - I can arrange it Australia wide.

If you've already had some done and want my option, shoot me a message and we can arrange a pathology review. I can do HTMA too 👌

Tired of feeling... well, tired? 😴⚡️

When my energy levels hit a wall, I look at two things: my gut and my thyroid. Orthoplex MagGI Restore hits both.

Most people use it for "leaky gut," but I use it because it contains 150mcg of Iodine and 60mcg of Selenium per scoop, two minerals that act like a battery pack for your metabolism and thyroid function.

Combined with a massive dose of Magnesium for that "calm energy," it’s become my non-negotiable morning ritual for me and my clients.

Note: This is a practitioner-grade supplement, so make sure to check in with your practitioner before adding it to your routine or book in with me to see if it's right for you.

I've been trying to breakfast a little bit easier so today I decided to make overnight oats which is pretty easy to do!

You can see the recipe here: https://cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r611902

PS, if you don't have a Thermomix, but you would still like to make it you just need to put everything in a bowl to mix. You can use whole almonds or just cut them up.

Want to give your baby a serious head start? A 2023 review showed choline supplementation during pregnancy boosts physical and mental qualities, including cognition. I'd also recommend it in post partum, particularly during breastfeeding, as demand increases to support infant brain development and maternal recovery, with requirements rising to 550 mg a day.

Unfortunately food sources like eggs are low (shop eggs are even worse!) and even with enough choline in prenatals, genetic variations can affect uptake, increasing deficiency risk (such as PEMT) which affects how much the body uses.

It is my birthday today, but we did the celebrating over the weekend in Dunsborough. 🌊

It was exactly what I needed, family time, fresh air, and a change of scenery before heading back to the reality of newborn life in Clackline (the drive was over 5hrs 😅).

This year feels a lot quieter, but also a lot more meaningful. My birthday "party" today is mostly just a hot cup of bone broth (on the first attempt!) and some quality time with my family of 5.

I’m so grateful for another year and this beautiful, busy life 🎂💛

Healthy hormones that are balanced begin with strong foundations not Maccas coffee and a hash brown while blasting (sorry, but it’s true! ☕️💃).

If you’re ready to actually support your hormones, here is how we start:

🥗 Eat a Whole Foods-Based Diet: Nourish your body with nutrient-dense foods. My two favourite savory options? Sardines or pate. Trust me on this one!

🏃‍♀️ Move Your Body Every Day: Exercise regulates stress hormones and improves insulin sensitivity. And yes, I count chasing children, infrared sauna sessions, and sprinting to get the bins to the verge as movement.

🧘 Manage Your Stress Levels: Chronic stress is a hormone killer. Make time for REAL relaxation. Reminder: Showering alone is not self-care. Reading a book in a hammock or leaning into some "nana hobbies" is.

🚫 Remove Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals: Ditch the plastics and toxic beauty products. This is a big topic but it is SO easy to switch once you know how.

🥑 Support Your Gut: Include fibre-rich and fermented foods like kimchi, passionfruit, or kiwifruit to keep hormone metabolism on track.

Which one of these foundations is your biggest struggle right now? For me, it’s definitely being able to eat enough partially at lunch, so so tricky with a newborn. 🤱😅

Let me know in the comments, let's keep each other accountable!
