OT Conference day ✌️highlight….

So many interesting speakers and topics today, however I can’t go past my purchase from
I cannot wait to use these books to help support my wonderful clients with all those big feelings. Hardest decision was choosing between Brave and Able…the divine breathing buddies.
‘Able’ will be joining the Live Well OT team to support breath work and emotional regulation. 🥰☺️

Hi everyone, I’m growing up fast and loving learning about life. I’m full of chaos and love at the moment but I’m soooo good at hugs and can’t wait to hopefully meet some of you one day soon. Love from Truffle 🤪🥰🐶

Question: don’t you basically just play games with kids?
Answer: YES! We do a lot more than that too but, given PLAY is a child’s main occupation, this is how children learn best.

When we play with kids there’s always other underlying skills we are working on such as
⭐️ regulation
⭐️ fine motor skills
⭐️ gross motor skills
⭐️ communication
⭐️ executive functioning e.g. problem solving, planning, working memory, flexible thinking
⭐️ confidence to try new things
⭐️ the list goes on and on….

So, yes, along with many other things, we, as paediatric occupational therapists DO play games…this is how children learn best.

I hope you are enjoying the school holidays - I can’t believe we are almost back to school. 🤪
If you haven’t heard already Live Well OT has a new addition, Truffle, the medium Groodle. Well she’s not officially an employee at this stage as she’s only 10weeks old tomorrow (but maybe one day 😜). She is however settling in well to her new home. She can’t wait to get out and experience the world 🚶🏻‍♀️🐶🐾☀️☕️🌊

🤩🤩 Just WOW!! Dr Ross Greene: Collaborative and Proactive Solutions Model - 2 day training

This is not a new model to me. This is the second time I’ve completed the training and I can guarantee it continues to blow me away.

The statement that inspired my business name, Live Well OT.
This model is based on collaboration and communication (2 of my core values) and helps resolve unsolved problems WITH children (and adults). The model works; is evidenced based and supports children (and all of us) to “do well” because at the end of the day everyone wants to do the best they can with the skills they have got.
I value and 100% believe in this model and utilise it so much in my work as an occupational therapist. If you would like more information, please let me know…I’m happy to share the love and spread the word.

⭐️ 27th October ⭐️
Happy World OT Day; the last day of OT week. A week where we raise awareness of the vital role occupational therapists play in helping support people to be able to achieve what they want to do and need to do.
I am so incredibly proud of the work I do. Coming from a background of working several years as a registered nurse, I’ve always loved helping people but as an OT there’s something special that is hard to describe.

I cannot think of a place I would rather share my knowledge and experiences than the place I now call home; Clare Valley, South Australia.
Being an OT in a regional town means more than seeing and helping people achieve their goals (which of course is always incredible), its community orientated and the relationships you make along the way makes this job even more rewarding. 🥰🤩
