Did you know that in our clinic ALL of our physiotherapists are trained in dry needling?!

What is Dry Needling?
Dry needling involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into myofascial trigger points. These trigger points can contribute to pain, restricted movement, and neuromuscular dysfunction.

Benefits of Dry Needling:
✨Neuromuscular Reset: Dry needling helps disrupt dysfunctional motor endplate activity, restoring normal muscle tone and activation patterns.
✨Pain Modulation: It stimulates both local and central nervous system responses, activating endogenous opioid pathways and reducing nociceptive input.
✨Increased Blood Flow & Tissue Healing: Needling promotes microcirculation and the release of local biochemical mediators that support tissue regeneration.
✨Improved Range of Motion: By reducing muscular tightness and releasing trigger points, patients often experience an immediate increase in mobility.
✨Enhanced Treatment Outcomes: When used alongside exercise and manual therapy, dry needling can accelerate progress in both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

Our physios use it selectively based on a thorough assessment and clinical reasoning to ensure safe, effective outcomes.

Want to know if dry needling is appropriate for your condition? Speak with one of our physiotherapists at your next visit 🤗
