πΈ This weekend we celebrate World Menopause Day πΈ
During perimenopause and menopause, womenβs bodies go through significant hormonal changes that can affect metabolism, heart health, bone density, sleep, and overall wellbeing. This means the exercise routines that worked in their 30s may no longer be enough to protect long-term health in their 40s, 50s and beyond.
Research shows that the right combination of strength training, aerobic exercise and higher-intensity conditioning can play a powerful role in reducing the risk of:
β
Osteoporosis
β
Heart disease
β
Type 2 diabetes
To support women through this stage of life, Optimum Exercise Physiology is running its second 10-week Strong Through Menopause program β combining supervised exercise sessions with a comprehensive online education course.
This program is designed and delivered by Menopause-Certified Exercise Physiologist, Lisa Parkinson, who tailors exercise specifically to the unique physical and hormonal changes women experience at midlife. Women can also choose to work with Lisa individually through 1:1 consultations.
