Are you an all or nothing person? A black and white thinker? Do you feel like you often set yourself up for failure, or self-sabotage? 🤨

Often times these ways of being can be unhelpful when trying to make changes, as often unattainable goals are set, and when they aren’t initially achieved, that feeling of failure can dissuade you from trying again.

Counselling can be helpful in identifying these patterns - reach out if this sounds like something you are dealing with!

Have you ever thought, 'I am doing all the things, why am I not seeing results?'

You have created new healthy eating habits, you are doing a variety of exercise that you enjoy (not to punish yourself), and you feel you are in generally good health, yet, you aren't seeing results?

It could be that you are not feeling psychologically safe. Sounds a bit extreme, put like that. But can include things like:

☁️ chronic, ongoing stress in your life
☁️ doing things you logically know you may need to be doing, but is not in alignment with your values
☁️ doing too much, yet viewing rest as laziness

This can upset your internal feeling of safety, increasing cortisol, which has a flow on effect to many different physiological functions, ergo, impact your results when trying to implement change.

If this sounds like something that is going on for you. Reach out for a chat!

Cortisol is inversely correlated to melatonin (sleep hormone). Which means if one is high, the other is low.

If you have been experiencing ongoing elevated stress, this can cause melatonin to be low, which will impact your ability to fall asleep, and stay asleep.

There are many ways in which to regulate stress and the impact that cortisol has on your body, with both counselling and naturopathy being helpful in doing so.

If you have been suffering from chronic stress, have poor quality sleep or are constantly feeling tired, yet wired, reach out!

I will never not stop imploring people to be kinder to themselves!

We are often our worst critics. But, with a little effort, and some practice, we can start to rewire those neural patterns of negative self talk, moving to a more positive monologue, improving feelings of self worth, and self esteem!

We are often our own worst critics, being judgemental of our actions, abilities and accomplishments. And this pattern of thinking can impact our self esteem, which in turn, exacerbates these critical thoughts, having a snowball effect.

Counselling can be a helpful tool to help identify negative thought patterns, and rewrite the script, so we can start being kinder to ourselves.

For those who suffer with the symptoms of anxiety, it can feel overwhelming and impact quality of life immensely. But you do not need to suffer through. There are many ways to address the root cause of the anxiety, be it from a mental, emotional, physical or spiritual perspective.

If you suffer with symptoms of anxiety, you may want to consider either counselling or naturopathy as a way of reducing symptoms.

Our Story

Hi, I am Stacey and I am the owner of Nourish & Thrive Naturopathy and Massage. My goal as a naturopath and massage therapist is to help you feel your best, and reach your optimum health goals.

Having always been interested in nutrition and helping individuals, I wanted to find a way to offer personalised, yet evidence-based information that can be translated into easily understandable and realistic goals, that are attainable and are truly going to help to improve your health.

I believed I would be able to offer this through studying Naturopathy, which was a 4-year Bachelor of Health Science degree - here we covered everything from human anatomy and physiology, along with patho-physiology and nutritional biochemistry, giving me the core knowledge of how the body works at a cellular and biochemical level. The body has so many intricate feedback systems, and none of them can work in isolation to the others, so understanding those interactions were important to me.

A big element in my practice, and something that I have a keen interest in, is mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression and stress - and how these impact our overall health. And it is something that I feel so passionate about in helping people, that it has led me to take up further post-graduate study as a Counsellor.
