Hi everyone, my Broome trip was good as usual, and I will be going back when flights don't cost me my house.

Winter is looming, the weeds are growing, and if your pain levels have spiked and you want or need a RLT pad, get in soon.

I have about 10x left until new stock comes in at the end of April.
Sadly, as with everything, there will be a price hike. I've kept it down and only increased it by $20.
Current pads are $280, new pads will be close to the $300 tag.

Call or text me if you want to get set up for winter.

RLT wavelength 660/810/940nm, talk to AI about how good this pad is for pain inflammation and especially nerve pain.

Shingles is going around.
This is a very painful condition that can result in Postherpetic nerve Pain that can last up to 3-4 months, or longer.

If you Google red and infrared light therapy for shingles pain, you will find that 940nm and 980nm wavelengths are the most effective for relieving and promoting healing of nerve pain, due to the virus attacking the spinal nerves.

Early medical intervention is essential, but using RLT 2-3x daily will make a significant difference.

My medium pad ($280) has 660nm, 810nm amd 940nm wavelengths
My equine pad ($510) has 660nm, 810nm and 980nm wavelengths.

Both pads have a plastic cover and variable settings to select the time, wavelength, and pulsed or continuous mode.

Happy to say my pads are worth it.

Shingles is a nasty virus that spreads over our body when it breaks out.

Certainly seek medical advice, but a very successful complementary treatment is Red Light therapy. But not any red light; the 940nm wavelength is especially effective for nerve pain.

Dr Google says:

The 940 nm wavelength is highly effective for shingles-related nerve pain (neuralgia) because it penetrates deeper into the body than standard red light, reaching the damaged nerves and underlying tissues.

As many already know, I don't subscribe to an expensive exercise software platform. Yes, there are many excellent, valid exercises available.

I see many people who cannot do them.

Why?

My experience suggests that the starting point for people has been missed, and applying clinical reasoning to the whole person is lacking.

Many of my stick-drawn exercises serve as starting points for further progress.

My standing posture exercises are ones we all need.

The sneeze session is back.
A sneeze expels snot from our nose at 320km/h, spraying it up to 5m.
Acupuncture is a valid treatment, but it does involve needles going into your face, though. The added bonus is a cosmetic effect.

Cosmetic acupuncture is very popular, combined with red light therapy.

As a new Physio in a tourist town, I saw many people from all over Australia who have had a lot of physiotherapy. I can say that many people are not happy with a treatment that entails "just exercises".

A whole-body clinical assessment, appropriate treatment, and education, plus or minus manual therapy and advice, is what seems to be lacking in a Physiotherapy session.

This was the main criticism I heard from travellers I saw while in Broome. And these are people traveling all over Australia.

Pain can be local, and it can be referred.

Chronic pain may be due to the effect of protective movement patterns and then become a new cause. This is a common presentation.

Exercises are essential, but so is a correct clinical assessment of an old injury.
Clinical reasoning is a skill that comes with experience.
We older Physios still have value.

I have been asked to return to Broome next year because I have value.
