HULC - Hand + Upper Limb Centre HULC has 13 clinics across Perth & the Southwest. Southwest clinics in Bunbury, Margaret River and Vasse.

Our Metro clinics are located in Claremont, Joondalup, Murdoch, Subiaco, Rockingham, South Perth, Edgewater, Cockburn, Midland, and Osborne Park. With over 150 years combined experience in the specialist area of hand therapy, the HULC team has been delivering world-class occupational therapy and physiotherapy services in Western Australia since 2004. Our therapists have extensive experience working with many different patients, from professional and recreational athletes, complex worker compensation cases, patients injured in industrial and motor vehicle accidents, general rehabilitation to aged care patients.

✋💻 Check your desk setup

Your workstation setup can place extra strain on your hands and wrists when typing or using a mouse for long periods.

A few small changes can help:
✔️ Keep wrists in a neutral position
✔️ Avoid high keyboard tilt
✔️ Keep your mouse close to the keyboard
✔️ Take regular breaks and alternate tasks

Ergonomic equipment like a split keyboard or vertical mouse can also help support a more natural hand position.

Meet our Therapist: Jess!

Jess has been with HULC since 2015 and is an accredited AHTA hand therapist! Jess is one of HULC's Senior OTs and has worked across various HULC sites, working with different surgeons, therapists and admin staff.

Jess loves the diversity of hand therapy and the creativity involved in helping people to get back to doing the things they love.

Jess has just come back from maternity leave to join our team again in Subiaco.

On the weekends, Jess enjoys spending time outside with family and at the beach.

Cubital Tunnel Syndrome – What You Should Know 👋
Ever felt numbness or tingling in your ring and little finger? You might be experiencing cubital tunnel syndrome — a condition caused by irritation or compression of the ulnar nerve at the inside of the elbow.

💪 Conservative Management
Many cases improve without surgery:
• Night splinting
• Activity modification (avoiding prolonged elbow flexion/leaning on the elbow)
• Ergonomic adjustments
• Nerve gliding exercises
• Anti-inflammatory strategies

🏥 When Is Surgery Needed?
If symptoms persist, worsen, or muscle weakness develops, surgery may be recommended.
Common procedures:
• Ulnar nerve decompression
• Ulnar nerve transposition

🔄 Post-Op Recovery
• Sling if requested by treating surgeon
• Wound and scar management
• Gentle range of motion exercises (depending on procedure)
• Gradual strengthening
• Full recovery varies based on severity before surgery
