That’s a wrap on Patient Safety Awareness Week at Bethesda Health Care! 🟡

It’s been a great week of learning and connection across the hospital - from our annual sausage sizzle, to teams taking on the Patient Safety Escape Room Challenge, plus competitions and plenty of helpful safety tips shared along the way.

The view from Bethesda onto the Swan River in 1964 looked very different compared to today. Bethesda was established as a hospital in 1943 by Matron Beryl Hill in Subiaco, later moving to the current Claremont location.

🎄✨ We’re delighted to announce that the winner of the Bethesda Health Care Christmas Raffle is our lovely volunteer, Sue! 🎁

A huge thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and stopped at our Christmas stall on Friday – your support helps us continue providing additional services for our Palliative Care Unit patients, making their stay a little more comfortable. 💙

It is especially fitting a volunteer won this year’s major prize, as the draw took place on International Volunteers Day. We are so grateful for the quiet acts of service given so generously each week by our amazing volunteer team at Bethesda.

Both the Christmas Raffle winner (0578) and the runner-up (0781) have been notified.

Awarded to Tho Swotwa from Bethesda’s Metropolitan Palliative Care Consultancy Service - Perth WA.

🏆 Outstanding Achievement in Palliative Care for Aboriginal Communities Award
Awarded to the WACHS and Bethesda Pilbara Palliative Care Project Team.

We also celebrate Jenny Vivian from Bethesda, who was named a finalist for Outstanding Palliative Care Volunteer.

A huge congratulations to all finalists and winners for their incredible contributions to palliative care this year. Your dedication makes a profound difference.💙💙💙

Congratulations to our CEO, Dr Neale Fong, on his tenure as President of the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM).

Since 2016, Neale has provided exceptional leadership, helping to advance ACHSM’s vision to strengthen excellence in health service management.

We’re so proud of his many contributions to the wider health sector, and congratulate Elizabeth Koff AM on her well-deserved appointment as the next President. Neale will be continuing as Vice-President of the ACHSM Board.
