We’re excited to introduce Dr David Blakey to the 5D Clinics Melbourne team!

Dr Blakey is a highly experienced Radiation Oncologist with more than 30 years of clinical practice. After completing his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, he underwent specialist training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 1995.

Over his career, Dr Blakey has held senior clinical and leadership roles across both public and private sectors, with a strong focus on service development, clinical governance, medical education, and advancing new radiotherapy techniques.

He has a special clinical focus on prostate, breast, lung, and skin cancers, as well as stereotactic radiation therapy. Dedicated to delivering evidence-based, personalised care, Dr Blakey is excited to offer patients access to CyberKnife treatment.

Why does motion management matter in radiation therapy treatment?

When you receive radiation therapy treatment, you are required to lie still to ensure the radiation beams effectively target tumours.

Prof Siva is an international expert in stereotactic radiotherapy and serves as the Victorian Clinical Lead Radiation Oncologist at 5D Clinics. With pioneering contributions to precision radiation therapy and stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR), Prof Siva is renowned globally for advancing treatment innovation and clinical excellence. He has undertaken specialised training with CyberKnife in the USA, Switzerland, France and Germany, and serves as a long-standing Board Director of the International Radiosurgery Society (formerly known as the CyberKnife Society).

With more than 350 peer-reviewed publications and over 20 research awards, Prof Siva is a prolific academic who teaches specialists worldwide in best-practice stereotactic radiotherapy.

At the heart of his work is a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Prof Siva ensures every treatment is evidence-based and carefully tailored to each patient’s individual needs.

Dr Mathlum is a highly experienced radiation oncologist with a strong focus on advanced radiation therapy technologies.

With over 15 years as Director of Training for RANZCR, he has helped shape the next generation of oncologists, led numerous international and Trans-Tasman trials, and continues to collaborate with RMIT University on pioneering nanoparticle research.

He brings extensive expertise in IMRT, VMAT, stereotactic, and CyberKnife radiotherapy, with a clinical focus on head & neck, breast, prostate, gastrointestinal, lung, and skin cancers.

Known for his calm and compassionate approach, Dr Mathlum is a trusted partner in guiding patients through treatment.

We’re excited to introduce A/Prof Michael Jones to the 5D Clinics Melbourne team!

A/Prof Jones is a Radiation Oncologist and academic committed to delivering compassionate, comprehensive care. He completed specialist training at Calvary Mater Newcastle and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) in 2016. He then undertook a clinical research fellowship at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto.

Currently, A/Prof Jones serves as Director of Radiation Oncology at the Royal Hobart Hospital, is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Tasmania and works at Icon Cancer Centre Hobart. He is an active member of the FROGG executive and leads multiple clinical trials locally.

He combines his strong research focus with patient-centred care, treating a broad range of cancers, including prostate, breast, lung, and brain cancers, lymphoma, and gastrointestinal cancers.

We’re excited to introduce A/Prof Sasha Senthi to the 5D Clinics Melbourne team!

A/Prof Senthi is a leading Radiation Oncologist and clinical researcher with a strong focus on stereotactic radiation therapy. He trained at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and completed a PhD and Fellowship in the world-renowned Amsterdam UMC, becoming the first Australian to hold a fully funded fellowship there.

He has served as a Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG) board member and TROG Scientific Committee Chair and continues to mentor Radiation Oncologists at Monash University. His research includes several world-first studies in stereotactic radiotherapy.

A/Prof Senthi treats a broad range of malignancies with a special interest in brain cancer, spinal (CNS) cancers, gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer, and skin cancers. A recognised leader in advanced radiation techniques, he is committed to driving innovation in cancer care and improving patient outcomes.
