At CareChoice, we believe a safe workplace is one where people feel supported, respected and valued.

This World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we recognise the theme of ensuring a healthy psychosocial working environment for all - because workplace safety is not only physical, but also mental and emotional.

Psychosocial hazards in the workplace can impact both wellbeing and safety. These can include:

💬 Poor communication and lack of support
📋 High workloads and ongoing stress
🤝 Workplace conflict or bullying
🧠 Mental fatigue and burnout

By recognising these risks early, we can help create healthier, safer and more supportive workplaces for everyone.

April is World Autism Awareness Month 🧩

Autism affects people of all ages and is one of Australia’s most common developmental conditions. Did you know that in Australia:

🧠 1 in 27 children are diagnosed with autism
🌏 Over 675,000 Australians (about 1 in 40) identify as autistic
📈 Diagnoses have increased 41.8% since 2018
👦 Boys aged 5–14 are more likely to be diagnosed than girls

Autism isn’t always visible, but its impact is real. This month, let’s go beyond awareness and learn practical ways to support autistic people in our communities.

Epilepsy Awareness Day 💜

Epilepsy is one of the most common serious neurological conditions worldwide, affecting people of all ages 🧠

In Australia, nearly 250,000 people are currently living with epilepsy, and up to 3–3.5% of Australians will experience it at some point in their lives.

For many, epilepsy is an “invisible condition,” where the challenges are not always immediately apparent, yet can significantly impact daily life.

At CareChoice, we recognise the strength and resilience of individuals living with epilepsy. Through quality, personalised supports, we work alongside participants, families and support networks to promote safety, independence and confidence.

On Epilepsy Awareness Day, we encourage our community to show support by wearing purple 💜 and helping to raise awareness through meaningful conversations.

You can also make a difference by learning more here: https://www.epilepsy.org.au/fundraising-for-purple-day/ 🌏

Together, we can foster a more inclusive and informed community.
