Over the last two weeks, I’ve had the privilege of working with CBT Australia to deliver training courses in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in Brunei and the Phillipines.

What a wonderful experience we’ve had to be able to contribute to the training of mental health professionals in this part of the world.

I will be back in the practice on Monday 2nd October to resume therapy sessions.

Building acceptance (even if you don’t like aspects) of self, others and the world can significantly reduce upset and overwhelm. It’s a tough, but worthwhile goal to pursue.

So when you don’t complete something exactly as you’d prefer, when someone else does something that you don’t like, or when situations arise that are tough to handle - how do you choose to respond?

REBT is not just about unconditional self acceptance; it is also about unconditionally accepting others. Both are important!
