Phoebe has been a valued member of the Jessie McPherson Private Hospital team for nearly four years, building her career across a wide range of administrative roles. From reception and ward clerking to private clinics and beyond, she has developed a deep understanding
of hospital operations and patient care from the ground up.

✨ Known for her reliability and willingness to help, Phoebe is always ready to lend a hand and provide support to colleagues across both clerical and clinical teams. Her proactive approach, adaptability, and commitment to learning have made her an integral
part of the JMPH community.

Today, on Remembrance Day, we pause to honour the courage, service and sacrifice of Australian veterans.

As a hospital dedicated to care and compassion, we reflect on the legacy of those who served, including the 3,824 Commonwealth soldiers laid to rest at the Port Moresby (Bomana) War Cemetery in Papua New Guinea (pictured).

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Office of Australian War Graves, a reminder of the enduring importance of remembrance and respect.

We thank all who have served, and continue to serve, for their commitment to protecting the health, safety and freedom of our communities.

CNS | ADON Reliever | Emerging Leader Award Winner 2025

Amy has been a valued member of the Jessie McPherson Private Hospital family for 9 years - and has been making a difference in nursing for over 12 years. Working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist on 51 South, and also in the ADON reliever role, Amy brings compassion, leadership, and a calm presence to every shift.

✨ One of Amy’s standout moments was being honoured as Jessie McPherson’s Emerging Leader Award Winner for 2025. Although surprised to be recognised among so many deserving colleagues, the award reflects her commitment to growth, teamwork, and patient-centred
care.

🌟 Amy also considers learning the ADON reliever role a milestone achievement - embracing new challenges and developing her leadership skills along the way.

CNS | Cardiac Rehabilitation Coordinator | Nurse of the Year 2025

Heidi began her journey with Jessie McPherson Private Hospital in 1998, after completing her Nursing and Health Promotion degree. Over the years, she has brought compassion, expertise, and dedication to every role she’s embraced.

✨ From pre-admission to home visits post-surgery, outpatient cardiac investigations, rehabilitation, patient education, follow-up calls, and bedside nursing, Heidi’s experience spans the full patient journey. Her holistic approach ensures that every patient feels supported - before, during, and after their hospital
stay.

🏆 This year, Heidi’s exceptional commitment was recognised when she was honoured as Jessie McPherson’s Nurse of the Year 2025 - a well-deserved celebration of her leadership, empathy, and unwavering dedication to patient-centred care.

✨ A standout moment in Jemima’s career was being honoured with both the Star Award for Excellence and the Excellence in Innovation Award at the annual Jessie McPherson Awards Night. Standing before her colleagues during these moments was both proud and humbling - a reminder that hard work, dedication, and the courage to step outside your comfort zone can lead to meaningful change.

🧠 Brain Injury Awareness Week 2025 (18–24 August) is here, and this year’s theme is “Invisible disabilities deserve visible change."

This week, we stand in solidarity with those living with brain injuries—many of whom are navigating an invisible disability with very real impacts.

Brain injuries can stem from events like car accidents, assaults, domestic violence, or drug overdoses. The wounds may heal, but long-term symptoms such as memory loss, mood changes, and cognitive challenges often remain unseen and misunderstood.

At Jessie McPherson Private Hospital, we recognise that brain injuries intersect with justice, homelessness, and domestic violence, and we believe everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and heard.

This year’s theme, 'In Bloom' reminded us that no two flowers bloom the same way, and no two people contribute in the same way either. Our evening celebrated the beautiful diversity of our team: the steady sunflowers, the climbing jasmine, and the resilient wildflowers. Individually, we are skilled and committed. This year’s theme, "Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems," reminds us that breastfeeding is most successful when support is all around. At Jessie McPherson Private Hospital, we are proud to be part of the
warm chain of support — connecting health professionals, workplaces and communities to empower breastfeeding families.

We're especially proud of our experienced on-site lactation consultant, Annmaree, whose knowledge, care and dedication provide incredible support to new mothers. Alongside our compassionate team of midwives, Annmaree helps make every breastfeeding journey feel
