Monash University Mental Health and Wellbeing

Monash University Mental Health and Wellbeing The Monash University Mental Health and Wellbeing page is managed by the 2018 Mental Health Champions.

The Monash University Mental Health and Wellbeing page is managed by the 2017 Mental Health Champions. It is estimated that one in four young people aged between 16 – 24 currently experience a mental health disorder – and 60 to 80% of this cohort are also studying at university. As a community it is our responsibility to help students adjust to university life, feel supported and provide services to students who are having a tough time. Although Monash University has a wide range of counselling services, mental health programs and campaigns, we were missing an important engagement tool – word of mouth among students. To foster peer to peer interaction, Counselling and Mental Health Programs launched a student leadership initiative known as the Mental Health Champions. The Mental Health Champions initiative is a year-long leadership and volunteering opportunity to empower a team of Monash University students to be champions of mental health and wellbeing on our campuses. The team will work on a range of projects, speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and encourage help-seeking. Stay tuned to our page for events, fundraisers, articles and more all in the name of advocating mental health. More Info: https://www.monash.edu/students/leadership/mental-health-champions
