Physiotherapy Assessment for Knee Injuries 🦵
Knee pain is prevalent across approximately 19% of the Australian population. While the severity and incidence of knee pain increases steadily with age, it is also common within athletes 🏃♂️ and adolescents 💁♂️. It all starts with exploring the history of your knee pain through a subjective interview! Some of the key information 🔑 we look out for to help formulate a diagnosis is the mechanism of injury ⛹️♂️, the location of pain, the nature of the symptoms and provocative/relieving activities 🤕.
To gain more insight into the source of your pain, we conduct a physical examination! This involves assessing your ability to perform functional activities (e.g. squatting, walking, stairs) and testing specific structures in and around your knee to pinpoint the source of your pain 🎯. Some of these structures include:
