Community Connections | Redlands Coast

At FunFarm, we love seeing organisations across the Redlands Coast working together to strengthen connection and inclusion within the disABILITY community.

The Redland Disability Network (RDN) is hosting its next local networking gathering in February 2026, bringing together people, organisations and businesses who share a commitment to positive community outcomes and positive initiatives.

🗓 Thursday, 19 February 2026
⏰ 9:30am – 11:30am
📍 Redlands IndigiScapes Centre & Café, Capalaba

These gatherings provide a welcoming space to share updates, exchange ideas and build connections that support inclusion across our local Redlands community.

We’re always encouraged by collaborative initiatives like this that help create stronger, more connected pathways for people with disABILITY!

People with disabilities are like a colourful parachute made up of many colours, strengths and ways of being 🌈

Some lift HIGH. Some hold steady. Some simply stay connected.

Every role matters, and no one has to move, act or participate the same way to belong 🌈

Just like a parachute only works when everyone is included, our communities are stronger when we make space for a whole spectrum of FUN people.

FACT

Parachute activities are widely used in inclusive settings because they support connection and teamwork without pressure or comparison.

Which colour would you be holding today?

🚆 Big accessibility news for Brisbane!

More Pathways to Possibility!

Breaking Barriers and Building Belonging in our community.

Moorooka Railway Station is getting a full accessibility glow-up as part of the Cross River Rail project with lifts to all platforms and fully accessible station buildings on the way 🙌

When the upgraded station reopens in late 2027, it means easier, safer and more independent travel for people with disability, carers and the wider community.

Why we’re excited:

✔️ More inclusive public transport
✔️ Better independence for everyday travel
✔️ Easier access to work, study and social catch-ups
✔️ A big step towards a more accessible Brisbane

Accessible transport isn’t just about getting from A to B and it’s about connection, confidence and choice.

Love seeing progress like this that helps our community move more freely 💛

We want to extend our sincere thanks to the Rotary Club of Redlands Bayside Rotary Club of Brisbane, Rotary Club of Cleveland for their community support, Bendigo Bank for their funding support, to Redland City Council for their grant assistance, and to Bruce Hutchison at for his ongoing donations.

Your generosity helps FunFarm take meaningful steps toward our long-term vision.
We are also incredibly grateful to those who support us in bringing us closer to our FunFarm dream.

Your support reflects our continued belief in inclusion, connection, and creating a safe, welcoming space for teenagers and adults with disability. While FunFarm is all about experiences, community, and FUN, our long-term vision remains a dedicated FunFarm space where programs can grow and friendships can flourish.

To our new sponsors! 🌟 Welcome to the FunFarm family.

Your support helps shape a future built on understanding, compassion, and opportunity, strengthening our mission to support the local Redlands community and beyond.

Fun fact: Valentine’s Day didn’t start with roses, chocolates or fancy dinners.

It began as a celebration of connection, community and a little bit of rebellion (which feels very on brand, really with our cheeky FunStars).

So whether you’re celebrating love, friendship, self-love or just surviving the week, just remember this:

Love yourself and always, be you!

Fun Farm Limited

Fun Farm Limited, a new exciting community organisation setup in December 2019, inspired by the vision of Redlands local, Karen Howe who spent her waking hours considering her sons future. Our mission is to create a space for the disAbility community to fulfill their hopes, dreams and opportunities. We're a public company with a constitutional 'not for profit' objective. “It’s quite disturbing once they hit their early adult years, what will happen now. When they are so little, this way of thinking seemed a long way off about what their aspirations might be either for themselves, or generally us for them, and what will that look like as he will need 100% support.” Dylan doesn’t have friends, or sleepovers which many youths his age would be doing now, or activities bike riding, skateboarding etc. Like many, Dylan struggles with crowds and has sensory issues so going to theme parks, or where large crowds in a small space is not even an option. Got me thinking and spending time listening to other parents, carers & guardians who are overwhelmed with the same concerns. After much deliberation and discussions with the right people and discussing the Vision we can now see the possibilities to bringing this vision to life.” We are talking about of a place with unlimited opportunities, possibilities that are only limited by the imagination, and a fun safe place with dedicated people who have an understanding, and have lived through the life of a person with a disAbility. We have found some amazing people to join us on this venture ‘Fun Farm’ which we registered in 2019 as Fun Farm Limited. We are now in the process of undertaking the task of applying for Not For Profit and charity status. In the meantime we need some ‘seed’ funding to cover our insurances and some costs to ensure the certainty of getting this off the ground. This is our first round funding and we want to ensure we get it right first time. Its the community that are our biggest fans and your donations will go along way to making someone's future bright. This will be a place where parents, care givers and guardians can have a vision (light at the end) for their loved ones, a knowing they have somewhere to go and discover so much about themselves and create new friendships and skills. A place where we close the gap with the broader communities to learn and understand that the only difference between us all, is our perspective on life. Job opportunities whilst we dive into the potential of each individual. We will be seeking more Directors and Volunteers however in the meantime we need some FUNDS. With the support of the community we 'CAN DO' this giving families hope for their loved ones future! There is no tax deduction at this stage until we become a charity which can take from up to 12months. We don’t have luxury of time we need your help now!! w: www.funfarm.org.au e: info@funfarm.org.au
