It is the first week of Queensland Seniors Month and our team is out and about celebrating and connecting.
On Wendnesday we had a great time at Southside Seniors Expo. Today we are at Logan Seniors Big Day Out at logan Entertainment Centre.

We are cheering! 🎉
A massive congratulations to our incredible Warwick volunteer, Peter, who has been awarded the Public Service Medal in the King's Birthday Honours List for his outstanding public service to Queensland. 👏

At STAR, Peter volunteers his time with the Community Connections program at Warwick Men's BBQ and Brunch with Friends, to provide connection and friendship to isolated seniors. Thank you and well done, Peter!
Our community is better thanks to your contribution.

Today is a double celebration 🎉
Not only do we mark the United Nations International Day of Older Persons, but it is also the launch of Queensland Seniors Month

At STAR, we are proud to walk alongside our clients- supporting their independence and celebrating their contributions.
Through their knowledge, wisdom, and lived experiences, older people in our communities continue to shape stronger, fairer, and more connected communities.

Let’s take today (and every day!) to honour and celebrate the vital role of older persons.

Last week, STAR Community Services held its Annual General Meeting with a room packed with Board members, staff, clients, members, volunteers and friends. It was great to see Cr Paul Bishop and Wendy Boglary Councillor Ormiston/Wellington Point support. Everyone in the room applauded Peter Mann and thanked him for over 15 years of outstanding service to STAR. The Board welcomed new member Sara Horsey and Kailesh Naidu.
