Quick question before Mother’s Day arrives.

If you could actually have what you wanted this Sunday - not what’s practical, not what’s polite - what would it be?

Leave me a comment. I’m genuinely asking.

There’s a particular kind of exhaustion that comes with being overlooked.

At work. In relationships. In rooms you’ve been showing up to for years.

You’re still doing the work. Often more than everyone else.

But the recognition stopped somewhere along the way, and you can’t quite pinpoint when.

For women navigating midlife, this feeling tends to land in multiple places at once. Work is often just the loudest one.

If this is sitting with you, you’re not imagining it. And you’re not alone in it.

There’s a gap in the system that most people don’t talk about.

When women leave difficult situations - whether that’s a relationship that was coercive, a household that was controlling, a life that had slowly become unrecognisable - there’s a brief window of support.

And then it runs out. And the woman is standing in her new life without the tools to build something genuinely different. Without the nervous system regulation to make decisions from a grounded place.

And without that foundation, many women end up back in the same situation. Not because they’re weak. Because they weren’t given what they needed.

I built She Rescues Herself to bridge that gap.

To the woman who has been mothering everyone around her.

Her kids. Her partner. Her ageing parents. Her friends in crisis. Her colleagues who needed someone steady.

For years. Often without being asked. Almost always without being properly thanked.

Mother’s Day is coming.

And I want to ask you something:

What do you actually want?

Not what you’ll say when asked. Not the gracious answer. The real one.

What do you actually need right now?

You are allowed to want something for yourself. You are allowed to answer that question honestly.

This week, I’m sharing things that are genuinely useful for the woman in this description. Not flowers. Not platitudes. Actual tools.

Today I’m thinking about the people who held everything together quietly.

Who carried things they never spoke about. Who kept going because that’s what was required. Who were shaped by things that happened before them and passed some of those things forward without meaning to.

That is part of what intergenerational trauma looks like. Not dramatic. Often invisible. Carried in bodies and nervous systems and patterns of relating across generations.

Today feels like a day to acknowledge the weight of what gets carried. And to be gentle with ourselves for the ways we have been shaped by things we never chose.

Lest we forget.

Hi beautiful

Just incase you need a reminder….. Not all nervous system regulation looks like meditation.

Here’s 7 things that truly count that you probably do not call self-care:

1. Leaving a conversation that was making you feel worse.

2. Going to bed when you are tired instead of pushing through.

3. Eating something before your body has to ask twice.

4. Letting the phone ring out.

5. Saying no to something that would have cost you more than it gave.

6. Sitting in the car for five minutes before you go inside.

7. Choosing quiet over company when quiet is what you actually need.

Your nervous system does not care what you call it. It just responds to what you do.

What others can you come up with? Share them in the comments….

I want to tell you about a course I built.

Not because it’s perfect. Because it covers the things that no single appointment, book, or program was covering for the women I was working with.

ADHD in women - what it actually looks like, not the textbook version. Perimenopause and how it changes brain chemistry. Chronic illness that doesn’t show up on standard tests. Trauma - including the kind that doesn’t look dramatic from the outside. The nervous system and why regulation isn’t just about breathing. Grief. Relationships. The spiritual shifts that often come when everything else shifts.

It’s called When You’re Too Much and Not Enough at the Same Time.

14 modules. Lifetime access. You work through it at your own pace. No expiry date. $444 one-time. No monthly fees. Less than one month of therapy.

If you’ve been trying to piece it all together on your own, this is the place where it comes together.

For most of your life, you made it work.

You had systems. Routines. Ways of managing. You were good at knowing what you could handle and staying just inside that line.

And then something shifted. Gradually, or all at once - but at some point, the things that used to work stopped working.

The routine that kept you on track now feels impossible to maintain. The energy you used to push through on isn’t there anymore. The resilience that used to bounce back isn’t bouncing back.

This isn’t failure. This isn’t giving up.

This is your body telling you that what got you here isn’t what’s going to carry you forward. The nervous system that held everything together for so long is telling you it needs something different now.

That’s not a weakness. That’s information.

If you’re at that point - where the old ways have stopped working, and you don’t yet know what the new ones look like - ‘I Am At My Limit’ sessions are a good place to start.

If your brain started feeling different somewhere in your 40s - slower, foggier, less like you used to be - there’s something important you might not have been told.

Oestrogen plays a direct role in how dopamine functions in the brain.

When oestrogen begins to decline in perimenopause, women with ADHD - diagnosed or not - often find that symptoms they were managing suddenly become unmanageable.

But here’s what’s harder to say: many women reaching their 40s and 50s are only just realising they have ADHD at all. Because for decades, they adapted. They worked twice as hard to keep up. They were labelled anxious, sensitive, disorganised, and too much. They developed coping strategies that looked like functioning.

And then perimenopause came, and the coping strategies stopped working, and nobody could tell them why.
If you’re reading this and it’s landing somewhere specific, I built something that covers this intersection in full.
