Dr Alireza [“Ali”] Shafizadeh earned his medical degree in 2000 and began his career in Iran, accumulating 10 years of experience before relocating to Dubai. From 2010 to 2015, he served as an emergency physician at the Canadian Specialist Hospital in Dubai, honing his skills in critical care.

Dr Ali made the move to Australia in 2016, establishing his practice first in Brisbane. He served the community there with dedication and expertise before embarking on a new chapter in Melbourne. With his passion for providing quality healthcare and building strong patient relationships, Dr Ali brings skills and experience to the healthcare landscape of Clifton Hill and the Inner North, continuing to promote health and well-being in the community as an Independent GP.

He completed additional training, including a Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine from HealthCert (Bond University) in 2017 and a Professional Diploma in Medicine for Older Persons from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 2023. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice and brings a wealth of expertise to his patients, encompassing various medical areas including:

● Healthy Aging, Cognition and memory assessment,

● Musculoskeletal and sport injuries management,

● Ultrasound guided Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections, Prolotherapy, Hyaluronic, Acid injections for joint Osteoarthritis, Tendinopathies, tears and other sport injuries

● Trigger point injections, and Ultrasound guided Local Steroid injections,

● Skin cancer detection and management and minor surgeries,

● Implanon insertion and removal,

● Laceration repairs,

We’re thrilled to introduce Himani Saluja, a highly skilled and deeply dedicated administrative professional, now leading our practice team.

With a background in IT, health administration, and customer service, Himani brings a unique blend of technical expertise and people-first leadership. Her journey has taken her from software engineering in India to customer service management in New Zealand to healthcare operations across major clinics and now to Wellness Medicine.

Since joining us in early 2024, Himani has already helped drive significant growth, including welcoming two new GPs and refining the patient experience at every touchpoint.

It's New Year, and everyone is undoubtedly pre-occupied with making resolutions for 2023.

However, it's common for most people to drop their resolutions before the start of February 🙄

To give yourself the best shot at success, we recommend setting up easy and doable resolutions.

Here are some ideas:

• Cut back on sweetened beverages
• Cut back with the aim of giving up smoking
• Commit to having walks every day
• Eat more vegetables and fruits

This time of the year, the temptation to consume alcohol is greater than usual.

Here are some tips to help moderate consumption during the holiday season!

• Avoid drinking early in the day
• You're under no obligation to accept every free drink offered during parties
• Stay hydrated when you're drinking
• Choose drinks with lower levels of alcohol
• Drink slowly at your own pace
• Remember to eat a healthy meal before you begin drinking

Christmas is approaching, and although it is the most exciting time of the year, it can also be quite overwhelming – making it easy to forget about staying on top of our health.

Here are some tips to remain healthy during the holiday season!

• Moderation is the key!
• Eat and drink within reason, so you can enjoy Christmas Day to the fullest.
• Don't be sedentary during the holidays. Have quick walks, or participate in activities with friends and family!
• Don't forget to look after your mental health by spending time with the people that matter.
• Don't ditch your veggies and fruits.

We hope these simple tips will help you cruise through Christmas more healthily.
