Yoga Classes Yoga Classes-Foundation, Maintenance & Experienced Classes-Gita Hatha Style with Jenny Rock My name is Jenny Rock. The path of yoga has been very deep in me.

I first attempted it out of books when I was 16, climbing out of my window at 5.00 am in the morning to go and do it with a friend in the gardens and this is because I have always understood that when we can free ourselves of all our negative programming, stress, inhibitions and self-doubts, we can become incredibly potent and creative human beings . Since that time, I have done lots of different styles of yoga and meditation ongoingly at many places with many of the teachers considered to be leaders in the field. But even so, I have always always as my base line practised the style that was brought to Melbourne 60 years ago known as Gita Yoga. That’s because, of all the styles I have practised, this is the one that I have found that works in the most complete and rounded way in the shortest space of time. It’s like the nuts and bolts practising of scales that allow a budding musician or singer to become great at their craft. The body & all its major systems become very finely tuned after a time. The techniques themselves have been around for thousands of years because they work and IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE that there is little that goes wrong physically, emotionally or mentally that you can't address, if you're prepared to practise them. In my own life, there was a lot to overcome and because I really did grapple with it, I have an absolute wealth of insight, knowledge & experience that warrants being shared! Many yoga teachers will be showing you what they have been showed themselves. I think you will find that what I share comes from deep within and flows out of years of discipline and application, these building the foundation for perhaps a more intuitive and guided teaching. In the very short term, the practices make you feel calm, relaxed, centred and re-energised. Just one class alone is like pushing the 'refresh' button so that everything works smoothly again. In the longer term, the techniques develop that knowledge of yourself that builds up a kind of internal 'operating manual' so that, increasingly, you know what is going on in your body and why and what you need to do to balance things out. I certainly have felt the transformational impact in my own life and seen it in others who have walked the path with me. I can honestly say that my world has changed so much from the practise of yoga that the things that have occurred to me in my life have registered as choices I have made, rather than as seeming to come randomly out of the blue without rhyme or reason. I also feel I have developed a body that is extremely comfortable, adaptable and that does everything I need it to. So my focus in the classes is one of firstly, training & re-educating the body, mind and emotions to do the job you need & to serve you reliably. And secondly, the yogic way of achieving this is through awakening to & responding to the intelligence that is seeking you and your body as its vehicle. My Credentials

I graduated in 1989 with a Diploma of Hatha Yoga teaching from the Gita School of Yoga. While some people become yoga teachers after a 3 week course in Byron Bay or a 3 month intensive in India, or even online, the Gita course extends over 2 years. I did it several times over to really anchor the practises. So I have therefore been teaching for 35 years and have since then acquired 44 more qualifications, in areas such as Pranayama, Progressive Yoga Relaxation, Soul Counselling, Pre-Natal Yoga etc, being continually involved in ongoing learning because it is a Gita motto that 'You forfeit the right to teach, as soon as you cease to learn'. In 2015 I did a course to become qualified in Integrative Restoration – this is almost like a cross between relaxation, meditation and visualisation. I also trained in 2015 in a technique known as Psyche K, using kinesiology techniques to reprogram negative beliefs. Another method I trained in, in 2015 was a very potent form of journaling. I have had an extensive role mentoring trainee yoga teachers & have sat on Gita's examination panel for its new teacher candidates for a couple of decades. I am also a senior member of Yoga Australia and have been an ongoing member of the Gita International Teacher’s guild for the last 2 and ½ decades. I have taught a great range of classes including dedicated 10 week foundation courses, extension & depth classes for trainee teachers as well as pranayama courses, teachers' classes, corporate classes, relaxation courses, meditation, prenatal & post-natal classes as well as running an alternative yoga based school for 0-6 year olds. I have worked in areas such as drug rehabilitation & disability & run programs in high schools for teenagers, including PD for the staff. I have also hosted weekly meditation sessions and run yogic philosophy classes. My other qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts, a Masters of Secondary Teaching and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. I am currently working towards a Diploma in Astrology which I have also studied and practised for 30 years. Ring Jenny on 0403 512 336 to make a booking.

2022 is a year where our health and wellbeing will come into the spotlight. If you have been burning the candle at both ends or ignoring any nagging symptoms, this will be a year where the cosmos will send waves to support any healing that needs to happen.

2022 is also a year where our focus can shift away from change and towards building a solid foundation. We may begin feeling more settled or confident about where we have landed and can start focusing on building up a solid foundation piece by piece. This is a year to water our gardens and watch them flourish!

2022 is also a year to break karmic/generational cycles or repetitive patterns or habits that we seem to be stuck in. The cosmic energies of the year will support breaking free of these patterns once and for all. Freedom and liberation from the things that hold us back is also a theme we may feel this year.
