Did you know that PMS was not diagnosed as a medical condition until 1953 no one really knew how the female body worked now today, it is a house hold word and receives the attention it truly deserves.
Migraines that seem to cripple women more than males were possibly due to low progesterone, the hormone that prepares the women for conception and pregnancy and of course helps regulate the monthly cycle.
Here are a few essential oils I recommend to use.....

Lavender
Clary Sage ( my favourite )
Ginger
Geranium
Thyme
Rosemary

Always use a carrier oil

So I just want to touch base on the factors that can effect the quality of essential oils, this can be quite important if you are using oils in clinical health but above all its nice to know the difference. For example some species of rose grown in Bulgaria would be different to ones grown in England, similarly Lavandula angustifolia grown high in the mountains will contain more esters which could have a greater antispasmodic effect than Lavandula angustifolia grown closer to sea level. One can be more fruitier than the other so using your nose is a great way to tell, the age of the plant, altitude, climate the time it is harvest are a few more factors than can effect the quality of your oil.

Stress and well being we all experience this in our lives, but it is how we deal with it that is important. When we talk about stress we often assume it is related to mental or emotional stress but physical stress also exists, being in two places at once running kids around changing shifts all these and much more are part of our daily lives.

So here are some oils that you can put in a diffuser for your home or you could soak a wooden peg in the essential oils and pop it in your car for a aromatic smell.

Lavender, sweet orange, bergamont, rose, frankincense and neroli

If you have your own blend that you use and would like to share it just pop it up on here, we are all different and our sensory receptors are all different hence I am not a big fan of Lavender.

Essential oils are becoming more and more excepted world wide, especially when our loved ones become sick or our loved ones have grown old and things like Osteoarthritis, or dementia have set in. I was reading up on my clinical studies in age care written by Jane Buckle and she came across a poem written by a anonymous patient that had passed away in a nursing home in 1986 and I thought how true is this.....

The body it crumbles. Grace and vigor depart.
There is now a stone where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass, a young girl still dwells,
And now and again my battered heart swells.
I remember the pain, and I remember the joys,
And I'm living and loving all over again.
And I think of the years, all too few, gone too fast,
And accept the stark fact that nothing will last.
So open your eyes, nurse, open and see, not a crabbed old woman.
Look closer, see me.

Good morning did you know that inflammation is a way of restoring our body to normal functioning. Anti-inflammatory essential oils have strong effects on the dermis and epidermis so Roman/German essential oil is a good one to use, Black pepper and lavender are just a few examples and always remember use in a diluted blend.

just remember when using essential oils especially for clinical purposes that the supplier states the following country of origin, botanical name, part of the plant, organic or wild crafted or synthetic, method of extraction, batch number, expiry date, keep away from children do not take orally avoid when pregnant and just remember not advisable to use oils while breast feeding.

when using essential oils with children little is best and it is important to note that most essential oils depending on their age are not to be used at all. This might be because the essential oil has hormonal properties or could cause irritation and burning, ideally all essential oils should be organic.

Here is a few that you can use safely 3-4 drops diluted in 30ml 0f sweet almond oil for 7month old to up to 2 years old.....

Manuka, sweet orange, lavender, chamomile and Geranium
