Winter in TCM is a time of stillness, rest, and deep nourishment — are you listening to your body’s call to slow down. 🀄️

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is governed by the Water element and is closely linked to the Kidneys and Bladder, which are considered the root of vitality and longevity.

During this season, your body naturally turns inward, conserving energy and building strength from within.

Here are some powerful TCM-inspired practices to support your health this winter:

✨ Prioritise rest and sleep — this is the time to restore your Jing (essence), not push harder.

🍲 Nourish with warm, slow-cooked meals like bone broths, congee, and stews to support digestion and Kidney Qi.

🧣 Keep your lower back and feet warm — the Kidney channel runs through these areas and cold can weaken it.

🧘‍♀️ Slow down your schedule and reflect — winter is the perfect time for stillness, journaling, and gentle movement.

🌿 Consider herbal support or acupuncture to tonify your Kidneys and strengthen immunity.

If you’ve been pushing through, feeling flat, or dealing with lingering illness, it might be time to rethink how you treat your body through the seasons.

Healing isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey — and winter reminds us that deep healing starts with slowing down.

💛 At Elevation Holistic Health, I tailor every session to support your seasonal and individual needs — blending Western anatomy with the timeless wisdom of Chinese medicine.

Welcome to Part two 🀄️

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Five Element Theory helps us understand how nature and the body are connected.

The five elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water — each represent specific organs, emotions, seasons, and patterns of health.

Just like the seasons change, these elements flow in cycles.

When they’re in harmony, we feel well.

When one becomes excessive or deficient, it can impact our mood, digestion, immunity, sleep, or even physical pain.

Here’s a simple breakdown:
🌳Wood (Liver & Gallbladder): Growth, spring, planning, anger.
🔥Fire (Heart & Small Intestine): Joy, summer, connection.
🌎Earth (Spleen & Stomach): Nourishment, late summer, worry.
✨Metal (Lungs & Large Intestine): Boundaries, autumn, grief.
💧Water (Kidneys & Bladder): Wisdom, winter, fear.

Understanding which element you may be out of balance in can help guide your healing and self-care.

🍃 5 Ways to Use the Five Elements This Week:
1. Tune into the season: Eat seasonal foods and match your self-care to the energy of the current element.
2. Support digestion (Earth): Eat warm, cooked meals and chew slowly to nourish your Spleen.
3. Breathe deeply (Metal): Take 5 deep breaths each morning to support Lung Qi and release tension.
4. Move with purpose (Wood): Gentle stretching or walking helps circulate Liver Qi and ease frustration.
5. Create daily structure: Balance chaos (Fire) with calm rituals like journaling or herbal teas (Water).

Each element offers a mirror to your body and emotions. As you learn more, you’ll begin to see how everything is connected — within you and around you.

What is a Remedial Integrated Massage Treatment?

Well, let me explain… ✨

At Elevation Holistic Health, no session is ever “just a massage.” Each treatment is thoughtfully crafted using a combination of modalities tailored to your needs.

With years of experience in remedial therapy and additional qualifications under my belt, I blend my knowledge of human anatomy from both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine perspectives to deliver deeper, more effective outcomes.🀄️

Massage is never just about surface-level pain—your body speaks through symptoms. That persistent shoulder tension?

It might actually be linked to an imbalance in your Liver or Gallbladder channels.

Addressing the root cause is key to lasting relief. Otherwise, symptoms are bound to return.🍃

Book a treatment that goes beyond the surface.

👉🏻 Your body will thank you.

Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the right things but still not getting answers when it comes to your health?

In my clinic, our journey together begins with a conversation — not just about your symptoms, but about your health goals and what you truly need to feel well again.

Many of my clients come in after exhausting every other option in Western medicine, still searching for clarity.

That’s where I come in.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) doesn’t just chase symptoms — it investigates the root cause.

Because unless we treat what’s beneath the surface, those same issues will keep coming back.

You deserve to be part of the decision-making process when it comes to your recovery. I help guide you, but you’re always in the driver’s seat.

Every body is different, and so every treatment plan should be too.

Let’s explore a different approach — one that’s tailored just for you.

Ready to begin your healing journey?

✨ Struggling with foot or heel pain like plantar fasciitis? You’re not alone — but you don’t have to live with it either!

At Elevation Holistic Health, I take a unique approach to foot pain by blending Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

From a Western view, tight fascia, inflammation, and poor biomechanics often cause heel pain.

In addition TCM view this discomfort to stem from imbalances in the Kidney or Liver meridians or poor circulation of Qi and Blood in the lower limbs. 🀄️

My treatments target both — reducing inflammation, easing tension, and encouraging deep energetic flow to restore function and relieve pain at the root.

You’ll walk away (literally) feeling supported, aligned, and rebalanced.

If you’ve been icing, stretching, or ignoring that heel pain — it’s time to try something different.

Book your remedial integrated treatment now and give your feet the healing they deserve.

There’s more to sweating it out than just relaxation — infrared sauna therapy offers profound benefits for both body and mind.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, it helps to release trapped wind and cold from the channels, promoting the smooth flow of Qi and Blood while supporting the Lung and Kidney systems to enhance detoxification and immune defence. 🀄️✨

In Western terms, the deep penetrating heat helps increase circulation, stimulate lymphatic drainage, reduce inflammation, and support recovery by easing muscle tension and flushing out metabolic waste. 🍃

Whether you’re feeling run down, dealing with chronic tension, or simply want to support your body’s natural healing abilities — now is the time to prioritise your wellbeing with this deeply restorative treatment.

I offer a range of infrared sauna options and can also customise packages to suit your individual health goals.

📍Located in Clyde North I invite you to reserve your session today and start feeling the benefits from your very first sweat.

Today marked the start of a new semester and a fresh chapter in learning. I’ll admit, I had mixed feelings going into it last week.

With a lighter study load and some much-needed balance, I started to feel more aligned… and last night, excitement kicked in.

I prepped my lunch, packed my uni bag, and set my alarm for 4:45am (yes, really!) ready to dive in. ✨

Class was a success! We explored new layers of channel theory, building on everything I’ve come to understand so far.

Then, to top it all off, I checked my student portal and found out I passed my latest exam. Another one done and dusted ✅

This journey of learning doesn’t just enrich my life—it strengthens how I show up for you in clinic. 🀄️

Every subject deepens my ability to support you with grounded knowledge and holistic care.

Here’s to staying curious, connected, and committed.

✨ “True healing begins when we stop fighting symptoms and start listening to what they’re trying to tell us about our body.” ✨

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, symptoms are seen not as enemies to suppress, but as messengers from the body signposts revealing imbalances in our internal systems.

Whether it’s fatigue, pain, or digestive issues, these signals offer insight into the root cause, not just the surface layer.

Rather than silencing symptoms, we work to understand them. This is where the beauty of integrative care lies.

By blending Eastern wisdom with Western science, we create a more complete picture where modalities like acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, and remedial massage work alongside clinical diagnostics to support long-term healing, not just short-term relief.

Your body is always speaking. The question is: are we listening?

🍃 Embrace the shift from symptom management to self-understanding. That’s where true healing begin

Have you ever wondered why in winter we feel the cold more and our bones ache as if we’re ageing faster than usual?

This is because restricted oxygen and blood flow in the colder months reduces the supply of nutrients and moisture to our muscles and bones, causing heaviness and stiffness.

When it’s cold, our blood thickens, slowing circulation and making us feel the cold even more.

Winter is the best time to have massages and other therapeutic modalities to help increase oxygen and blood flow, keeping muscles nourished and joints lubricated so you can move freely and comfortably.

These treatments also support your immune system because better blood flow strengthens the body’s natural defences.

Massages and modalities aren’t a luxury; they’re an essential part of looking after your body.

Just as we see cardiologists for heart health and optometrists for eye care, remedial massage therapists focus on muscle and skeletal health.

It’s time to put yourself first and improve your health.

The bed warmer is on to keep you cosy, cocooned, and deeply relaxed during every treatment.

Decompress, rejuvenate, and restore your health this winter.

Have You Ever Noticed That I Never Offer Cold Water—Only Herbal Tea or Room Temperature Water Post-Treatment?

There’s a reason for this! In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), cold beverages are believed to slow down digestion and hinder the smooth flow of Chi (vital energy). Instead, warm herbal teas help to support circulation, aid digestion, and nourish the body’s internal balance—helping you feel revitalized from the inside out.

Drinking herbal tea is more than just a soothing ritual. Different herbs offer unique health benefits, such as:
☕ Ginger – warms the digestive system and supports immunity
☕ Peppermint – soothes bloating and promotes relaxation
☕ Chrysanthemum – cools excess heat and supports liver health
☕ Goji Berry – nourishes the blood and boosts energy
☕ Licorice Root – harmonizes digestion and supports adrenal health

By choosing warm herbal tea after your treatment, you’re not just hydrating—you’re actively supporting your body’s healing process. Next time you sip on your post-treatment tea, take a moment to notice how your body responds.

What’s your favorite herbal tea, and how does it make you feel? Let me know in the comments!
