Victorian Government is offering Regional Disability Worker Scholarships to support students completing their disability support work studies, particularly those undertaking unpaid placements in regional and rural Victoria. Eligible students can receive $3,500 to help with the costs associated with their studies, including unpaid placements.

* National Assistance Card Card*

National Assistance Cards are now available across Australia. They’re intended for people with autism and/or brain injury, to help communicate peoples’ unique needs.

This is useful for daily tasks, like shopping, or in emergencies.

Cardholders can list the impacts of their disability on the card. They can also add further details to the QR code by including a written message or recorded video.

Current cardholders say that the card gives them more confidence and independence. It also makes them feel more comfortable accessing services in the community.

The National Assistance Card Service is an initiative of the Brain Injury Association of Tasmania. They received government funding to expand the card to people across Australia.

The National Assistance Card Service hope that in the future, the card will be available to everyone in Australia with disability and health conditions.
