This is exactly my problem! After 26 days of disconnection, Telstra offered me $600 off my next bill and the ombudsman is limited to a maximum of fining them $1500 and only in the "worst cases". Seem hopelessly ineffective as a deterrent to a monster like Telstra....
An ombudsman report says too many telcos are failing to comply with the rules, and some of the rules are too soft, causing distress for phone and internet users.
