I have now increased my work days to 4 days (not working Thursdays) which has reduced my wait time from 5 weeks ( 😱) to under 1 week! Hooray!!!!!

I have now added an extra day at the clinic so will be working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays.

Government support for people living with pelvic pain and endometriosis is essential 🧡 the financial burden of healthcare is one of the main barriers and there is still an average of 7 years (and usually multiple doctors visits) before diagnosis.

Over a number of years I worked with local women to draw attention to the lack of resources for women suffering endometriosis and pelvic pain. Our Federal Labor Government have since put treatments on the PBS and funded a clinic in Darwin which has been very successful in providing support.

This week the Assistant Minister for Health, Aged Care and Indigenous Health, the Hon Rebecca White MP, joined me at the Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis Clinic in Coconut Grove.

This clinic is part of the Albanese Government’s $500 million investment in women’s health, making sure women in the Territory and across Australia have better access to care, earlier treatment and stronger support.

Home Visits Relaunched 🚀🧡

FAQs answered:
-Home Visits are the same length appointment as in clinic. I check and treat all the things I would do in clinic. The only thing I do not do in home visits is pessary fittings.
-The fee for your appointment is the same as in-clinic. Home Visits have a small travel fee added dependent on your location.
-Ideal for when you are struggling to make it to appointments or don’t want to time your appointments around potential nap times!
-I also treat blocked ducts and mastitis at home with therapeutic ultrasound.

🧡 My Go-to Yoga Routine 🧡

My most recommended youtube clip would have to be this beautiful flow from Paula Lay in Melbourne. Perfect if you feel tension in your upper back (breastfeeding, office work, general stress!).

Not only is it doable at only just over 10 minutes but it is also highly effective. And if you're anything like me and love multi-tasking, do your pelvic floor exercises at the same time 🥰🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️ Namaste 🧡

🧡 Ultrasound of the Pelvic Floor 🧡

Because we can’t see our pelvic floor muscles it can be really challenging to know if we are contracting them properly! Realtime Ultrasound over the lower belly or perineum can be an amazing feedback tool to ensure you’re doing it right!

I take my ultrasound on home visits and use it most days in clinic (especially for men and children).

I have a few leftover tubigrips for sale from the expo ☺️ I’ve created a guide included which explains all the various uses of tubigrip in the pregnancy and postnatal period (I lived in mine in third trimester to support my stretching stomach and give me some relief from rib pain).

They say it’s better to be busy than bored but when your waitlist blows out to 5 weeks something has to give! 😱😱😱

I have made the decision to put a hold on new appointments for the next month to help me catch up and ensure my return clients can get an appointment at a good time.
