What's the difference between Young Living essential oils and all the other essential oil companies?

Young Living has something that no other company can claim: our Seed to Seal® quality commitment. Seed to Seal is supported by three pillars:

Pillar 1: Sourcing
Young Living's essential oils are sourced from our corporate-owned farms, partner farms, and Seed to Seal-certified suppliers. This empowers us to source conscientiously and with sensitivity to local communities and ecosystems.

Pillar 2: Science
While product quality starts in the fields, it's proven in our state-of-the-art labs. Our Research and Development and Quality teams are staffed with more than 50 highly trained, highly skilled scientists, who use advanced testing methods to help ensure that all products meet our lofty standards.

Pillar 3: Standards
Inexpensive essential oils are often synthetic, adulterated, or unethically sourced, which is why we choose partners who produce pure essential oils and ingredients ethically and legally. This practice sets a top-tier standard for legal and ethical sourcing. Our efforts also go beyond a conscientious supply chain. Young Living's commitment to sustainable business includes reforestation of harvested trees; recycling at Young Living offices; and the construction of our brand-new, LEED-certified headquarters in Lehi, Utah.

Why do we uphold these rigorous Seed to Seal standards? Because they result in a superior quality product, providing you and the Young Living family with quality beyond anything else on the market.

As the industry continues to expand, Young Living users can feel confident passing by the "other guys" on the shelves, knowing that no other label comes with Seed to Seal promise of uncompromised quality.

Hair Loss - Preventing it and/or Dealing with It by Frances Fuller

Hair loss can be attributed to a number of causes. Some of these can be lack of sufficient vitamins and minerals, inadequate sleep, high stress levels and hormones. No matter what the cause, it is challenging when it happens to YOU!

It may help to think of it as a signal that something is not balanced in the body. If we approach it in this manner, we may more easily achieve the glorious thick and shiny mane we desire.

What’s in your shampoo and other hair products?
There are many chemicals in most shampoos, conditioners, and other hair products which may give a temporary appearance of shiny full hair, but which may actually dry the hair and irritate the scalp. Unfortunately, it is NOT necessary for all ingredients to be printed on the label! (This was a real surprise for me when I discovered it a few years ago!) In addition, the products you are using may be marketed as “natural” or “organic”, but these words have nor regulatory board governing their use.

Would you “eat your shampoo”?

Gary Young, founder of Young Living Essential Oils asked that question during a training class in early 2000. We all laughed. He said you can eat his shampoo – and continued by saying that “you may not like the taste, but it could be the best thing you put I your body all day!” His point is that there is nothing that would harm you in the Young Living shampoo. Can the same be said for YOURS?

Eliminating of chemicals that can contribute to hair loss is an easy first step. This may be all that is necessary for some.

Are your vitamins and minerals being absorbed?
Many of us make a decision to “become healthier” and begin to take supplements – but we do not seem to be feeling and looking better. This could be that the supplements are not being absorbed by the body. Often there are “fillers” in supplements that inhibit the body’s absorption rate, so the supplements are actually eliminated from the body rather than being absorbed. In addition, some vitamins require the ratio to be present in order to be readily utilized by the body. In other words, while the ingredients may be present, they do not assist us.

When the body receives the nutrients it needs in a form that can be absorbed, you will be amazed at the results.

Young Living’s:
SULFURZYME offers pure organic sulfur
BALANCE COMPLETE is a great way to ensure enough protein in the diet.
NINGXIA RED is high in anti-oxidants which can readily be used by the body.

NEW PRODUCT:
The new MIRAH HAIR OIL is amazing! I use 2 drops on damp hair and massage into scalp. It does not make my hair oily. (I was amazed as I have fine oily hair.)

What can you do about stress?
Hummm, this is a big deal! While most of us cannot “eliminate stress” from our lives, we can reduce the impact of stress on the body. Meditation, essential oils, breathing (as in Yoga practices), and exercise can greatly assist. Just taking a few minutes each day may reduce stressors that can lead to serious diseases – and hair loss.

Essential Oils
ALL Therapeutic Grade essential oils have the ability to oxygenate the cells of the body – and every single cell needs adequate oxygen to be healthy. In addition, many essential oils are widely used for their calming effect – so they can assist in both ways at once!

I have personally noted that LAVENDER, CEDARWOOD, and YLANG YLANG are especially effective both for preventing and alleviating hair loss as well as for reducing stress. I massage 2-3 drops of ONE of the oils into the scalp morning and evening. Essential oils do NOT make the hair greasy as it is only when combined with vegetable oil that a greasy feeling would be present.

NOTE: Lavender essential oil is great for relaxing you so you can sleep better!

There are several recipes in the Essential Oils Desk Reference which could be helpful:

Blend #1
10 drops cedarwood
8 drops rosemary
10 drops sandalwood
10 drops lavender

Blend #2
3 drops rosemary
5 drops lavender
4 drops cypress
2 drops clary sage
2 drops juniper

Add 10 drops of either of the above blends to 1 teaspoon fractionated coconut oil and massage into scalp at night before bed. Some have found it helpful to alternate the blends.

Don’t despair – your “mane aggravation” can be your “crowning glory”!!!

CITRONELLA essential oil

Citronella oil is steam distilled from the leafy parts of the citronella plant.
Citronella essential oil is a common element in perfumes and cosmetic products and is well known for its use in outdoor candles, sprays, lotions, and other camping and outdoor essentials.

As a relative of Lemongrass, Citronella has a slight citrus scent that provides a pleasant and inviting experience whenever it’s used. Its versatility makes it a great household product to add to your beauty routine or to refresh indoor and outdoor spaces.

Uses:
Apply topically before and during outdoor activities.
Use Citronella's bright scent to sweeten a custom fragrance or diffusion blend.
Apply topically to refresh and moisturise skin.
Use as an alternative to deodorant. Combine with Melaleuca Alternifolia essential oil for added strength.
Use in a DIY floating candle bowl to create a peaceful ambience and pleasant aroma during outdoor parties.

Citronella essential oil was traditionally used to prevent food spoilage.

Citronella is one of the oldest used plants for insect repellent before the manufacturing of DDT? Yes, used all over the world for thousands of years and today is used in many candles, sunscreen, and even skin care products.

Mentally, its citrusy and fruity aroma is very calming.

Spiritually & Emotionally, Citronella essential oil helps to release the energy of punishment and distrust that creates anger, frustration and separation from self and source. It helps to calm the emotional and mental bodies so that one can resolve the inner reasons for the conflict.

This oil instills trust and connection to source which helps us embrace and accept ourself and all of life’s rewards. It asks us to evaluate the things that “bug us” or irritate us on a deeper level. Once we do, we may find those pesky annoyances are exactly the things we need to be more accepting of in others so we can accept ourselves.
