Our clinic is dedicated to providing upcoming mental health practitioners with an opportunity to develop therapy skills. At Harbour Therapy Clinic, we run an Intern, Placement and Volunteer Program for students studying psychology, social work, counselling and psychotherapy. Our professional hub is situated on the mid north coast of NSW. We understand that gaining experience in mental health organisations in a regional setting can be difficult. We welcome those wanting an opportunity to gain first hand, real-world experience in a fully-functioning, fast-paced clinic. We offer affordable sessions for clients who are happy to work with supervised professional students and provisional psychologists. The continuing professional development programme of Harbour Therapy Clinic, provides innovative, challenging and inspiring continuing educational events for psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, medical practitioners and other mental health workers. Our seminar leaders and panels are chosen from the field and are often the most experienced practitioners who draw upon contemporary theory and the latest research findings and theoretical developments. Harbour Therapy Clinic professional development events aim to build bridges between schools of thought and are committed to interdisciplinary discussion. Harbour Therapy Clinic events are also designed for the participants' well-being. With that in mind, we provide time and space for people to network, thoughtfully prepared materials and other resources. Our goal is to create a friendly and secure learning community to support people in their clinical work and professional lives. We recognise that, while professional psychotherapists or other mental health workers are required to continue learning and developing skills throughout their careers, doing so in a meaningful way takes considerable commitment. We provide our colleagues with skills and knowledge that lead to increased professional confidence, better work and a leading edge in the field.
