Our team was honoured to support a groundbreaking surgery for two endangered Australian Sea Lions, Miri and Ozzie. A huge thank you to Dr. Angela Suen for her compassion, expertise and hands-on support in making this extraordinary procedure possible!

✨ A Huge Thank You to Baringa Private Hospital & Ramsay Health Care for their generous support during a recent groundbreaking surgery on two of our endangered Australian Sea Lions, Miri and Ozzie. 💙

Not only did Baringa donate vital medical equipment and supplies that helped make this complex procedure possible, but their very own Dr. Angela Suen also joined the team on-site to assist and learn about the unique challenges of marine mammal anaesthesia. 🩺🌊

Sea lions are very different from humans when it comes to sedation and recovery — their ability to hold their breath and unique anatomy makes surgery especially complex. Dr. Suen was eager to understand how anaesthetic techniques differ for seals compared to humans and was an incredible support throughout the day.

We are so thankful to have such a passionate and skilled local medical community behind us. Collaborations like this show what’s possible when wildlife care meets world-class human medicine! 🙌🐾
