Day 2 of โ5 Days of the Zooโ!
Yesโฆ we were only at the zoo for one day. ๐ But we took so many pictures that it deserves its own mini-series!
Todayโs batch shows how much fun and how many smiles we got to see! We walked, we talked, we laughed and we wondered!
Canโt wait to share more tomorrow. If you thought Day 2 was fun, just wait. ๐พโค๏ธ

We recently had the best time at Billabong Zoo in Port Macquarie โ such a fun day out, and we managed to tick so many boxes for the beautiful people who joined us.
We took way too many photos for just one post, soโฆ weโre doing 5 Days From the Zoo! ๐ฅฐ
Stay tuned โ each day Iโll share a few more of the amazing moments we captured.
Day 1 starts today!

Weโre proud to regularly welcome students into placements at CHSS!
Itโs always inspiring to see them grow, learn, and actively participate as the future workforce of our industry.
Supporting the next generation of care professionals is something weโre passionate about, and we love helping them develop from student to skilled worker.
Thank you NV College - RTO 40787 for giving us the opportunity to be part of this journey!

๐จโจ Art Hunt Adventure! โจ๐จ
Today our clients took part in a creative โArt Hunt,โ where each person received a special list of items to search for within the artworks on display. It was such a fun and engaging way to explore the gallery!
Not only did participants connect more deeply with the art, but they also connected with each other and our staffโsharing their discoveries, comparing notes, and celebrating each little find together.
A special thank you to our Support Worker Sam who went out of her way to plan this great event.
Moments like these remind us how powerful art can be in bringing people together. โค๏ธ๐ผ๏ธ

At CHSS, weโre proud to support our community with high-quality, person-centred NDIS services - and now, weโd love to hear from you!
If youโve had a positive experience with CHSS, weโd be so grateful if you could share a few words about it.
Your feedback is truly invaluable - it helps us celebrate whatโs working, continue improving, and share the real impact of our services in the community.

Iโve had the privilege of working across many sectors of CHSS - from starting as a student and support worker, to senior support, internal quality improvement, audit and compliance, WHS committee member, and now as a Coordinator overseeing SIL (Supported Independent Living) accommodation.
My day-to-day work involves supporting teams of staff to provide the most tailored support to clients living in SIL accommodation - helping them live lives that promote independence, self-achievement, and capacity building while achieving their goals and embracing inclusivity and individuality.

The most meaningful recent moment was watching three participants move into a new SIL and gradually transform that space from three strangers living together into a home filled with laughter, banter (and the occasional disagreement! ๐ ) but above all, joy, camaraderie, and companionship. What was once an empty space is now a home for three lovely lads from the local community. ๐ ๐

๐งช๐ Slime Time at Our Community Supports Day Programme! ๐๐งช
Todayโs activity got a little gooey โ we made our very own slime! Everyone had a chance to mix, stir, and get creative with colors and textures. While a few of our clients decided the slimy feeling wasnโt quite their favorite ๐ , others loved squishing and stretching their creations.
It was such a fun hands-on activity that encouraged teamwork, sensory exploration, and lots of laughter. We love seeing everyone try new things and enjoy time together โ even when it gets a little messy! ๐ซ
