Your experience matters to us ๐
If our support has been helpful, it would mean a lot to our team if you could leave a Google review - it helps other families find the support they need with a team they can trust.
We love sharing a little more about the people who support our clients and community every day.
This week, weโre introducing one of our amazing SIL Coordinators, Nimi, and the work she's proud to be part of at CHSS.
My role at CHSS is a SIL Coordinator. I look after the teams across three houses and support seven clients. A typical day is never really โtypicalโ. It often starts with reviewing rosters and quick wellbeing check-ins with staff and clients, then moves into problemโsolving when a support worker needs guidance or a clientโs needs change.
Iโm in regular communication with families, support workers, clinicians and other stakeholders to keep supports flexible, safe and personโcentred. Some parts of my day are operational - compliance and documentation - and other parts are very much about the human side of the service.
Being a SIL Coordinator keeps me thinking, adapting and closely connected to the people I support. I feel privileged to work in this role and to be part of such a dedicated, caring team.
One of the most meaningful moments has been supporting a SIL client to work towards a longโterm goal of living independently. Over several years, the focus was on building everyday skills, confidence and routine at the clientโs pace.
Seeing them successfully transition to living in their own home was incredibly rewarding.
Moments like that - and building strong, supportive teams around our clients - are why I love what I do at CHSS.โ
This one made us smile ๐๐ฅฒ Such a beautiful throwback.
This video popped up from over 10 years ago. Itโs full of joy, our clients dancing, laughing and soaking up the moment. Some familiar faces we miss, and some who are still very much part of our CHSS family today.
A really special reminder of the connections and memories that stay with us ๐
At CHSS, community supports arenโt one-size-fits-all.
We sit down with you to plan your week, your way, with activities that fit your goals, your energy and your interests.
โข a cooking or healthy living group
โข a small art or creativity group
โข a games or activity group
โข a local outing with other CHSS community members
You can pick and choose the activities that interest you and support the goals youโre working towards.
โข ease in at your own pace
โข learn, grow and enjoy your time
โข feel safe and welcomed, especially if itโs your first time or youโre feeling a bit anxious

Our monthly Friday night at the Hoey
Nothing beats a solid feed and catching up with the crew after a long week. Plenty of laughs, a bit of friendly competition on the pool table ๐ฑ (some better than others ๐ ), and just all-round good vibes.
These are the nights that make the week worth it โ good food, great mates, and no rush to be anywhere else. Keen to do it all again next month! ๐

There's nothing like a morning tea to bring people together, especially when it involves home-baked treats and a genuinely great cause.
Two of our team, Kristy and Lisa, are taking on the Cancer Council Australia ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ ๐ and a morning tea was the perfect way to boost their fundraising... and everyone's sugar levels.
Staff and clients came together, shared delicious goodies, swapped plenty of laughs, and raised an amazing $147.75
A huge thank you to everyone who baked, brought along a treat, or popped a gold coin in the jar, every bit counts.
Great vibes in the kitchen today at Fit Food Crew!
Every Monday our amazing participants come together to cook up something delicious, and todayโs menu was a crowd favourite โ Nachos!
From planning the meal, budgeting, and shopping for ingredients, right through to preparing and cooking, everyone plays a part. Itโs all about building skills, working as a team, and having fun along the way.
The best part? Sitting down together afterwards to share the feast we created. Good food, great company, and plenty of laughs around the table.
Well done to everyone who got involved today โ we canโt wait to see whatโs on the menu next Monday!

What does good disability support look like?
Here are five things you should notice in your everyday supports:
Your ideas, routines, preferences and goals matter. Good support begins with taking the time to understand you.
You know whoโs coming, when theyโre coming and what the plan is. If anything changes, youโre told early and in plain language.
Youโre included in decisions about how your supports run, not just updated afterwards.
Safe spaces, safe interactions and thoughtful planning are part of quality service delivery.
Support should help you build skills, confidence, connection and independence in ways that matter to you.
Everyone deserves support that feels safe, stable, respectful and centred on their goals.
At CHSS, we strive to make every day full of fun, laughter, and good company, and we'd love to have you join in.
Here's a little peek at what your Wednesday could look like with us:
For those who love fresh air, good conversation, and a little patience. A perfect way to unwind outdoors.
Grab that mic and shine! No judgment here, just great songs, big smiles, and even bigger cheers.
Whether you're a lucky charm or just love the atmosphere, Bingo is always a blast.
Roll a strike (or just have a great laugh trying)! All skill levels welcome, it's all about the fun.
Treat yourself! Come relax, do your nails, and enjoy some quiet, feel-good time just for you.
March is just late February, right? ๐
Here are some belated Valentine's shots that were too good to sit on any longer ๐
Our Valentine's Dinner at The Plantation Hotel was one of those nights that reminded us exactly why we do what we do. 50+ of our clients, support workers, and friends from outside our usual crew, all in one room - smiles, laughs, and a genuinely lovely night.
Being included on Valentine's Day, having somewhere to be and people to share it with, that's not a small thing.
And to top off a beautiful night, one very lucky guest took home a box of chocolates that made his night ๐
Thank you to everyone who came and made it so special.

What do you do when a quiet moment pops up during the day?
Grab a third coffee? โ
Do a little doomscrolling?
Clean that thing you never think to clean?
Today, our support worker Billy put the sunshine - and his smile - to good use and gave our front entry a proper glowโup with the pressure washer.
It's the path our clients, families and community walk every day, and it's looking pretty sharp now!
This is what our team does - they show up, they care, and they go the extra mile. Even when the extra mile comes with a bit of a sweat. ๐
