I am delighted to congratulate Teresa in completing her certification in EFT.

She has been a dedicated & enthusiastic mentee, doing lots of her own work along the way whilst supporting many others.

I love it when mental health professionals embrace Clinical EFT the way Teresa has, as it keeps the standards high, promoting safe, gentle and effective practice.

Here is Teresa's own introduction:

I was introduced to EFT by my colleague and keenly signed up for my first Level 1 & 2 training with Jules in February 2020.
I remember feeling like I had ‘come home’ it just resonated with me so much and made so much sense.

Unfortunately, Covid arrived and interrupted that journey and eventually in February 2023 I joined Jules signature training The Bubble - Trauma Informed Training in Clinical EFT, which inspired me to go on to do my Certification.

I have loved learning about EFT and further developing my understanding of emotional health and wellbeing.

My background is in Occupational Therapy and Counselling and for me, Clinical EFT brings together the best of our knowledge and understanding of how the body and mind works, to deliver this simple yet sophisticated technique.

I am so excited by EFT because of its effectiveness and the strong scientific evidence base that supports it. I know it works, I’ve experienced it for myself and I have witnessed it in others.
Clinical EFT is such a gentle safe way to be with our pain, access our self-compassion and connect with our own wisdom and strength.

Learning about trauma and its effects upon the body has been a game changer for me both personally and professionally. I love how EFT increases our awareness, empowering us to manage stressful situations more effectively and be in the present moment.

And that to me is truly emotional freedom!!

I love that it is such a gentle technique and that the client retains authority on themselves increasing self-belief and confidence. The client chooses what they want to focus on, the therapist guides the process and the client discovers their truth.

Seeing my clients so delighted by the changes they have made, and hearing how they have been able to respond to previously stressful situations in a calm way is so inspiring.

I am so excited to be sharing this effective technique with others.
I am deeply grateful to Jules for nurturing my love and understanding of EFT, encouraging me all the way and providing this quality Certification training.

Her knowledge, experience and compassionate understanding of people and the effects of trauma is exceptional.

Her detailed feedback on each and every session is a testament to her personal commitment to bringing safe trauma informed EFT to the world and I feel so privileged to have trained with her.

I am beyond proud to congratulate Rhianna Grimley on completing her certification in EFT.

With some stopping & starting along the way, I was not sure she would get there, as most people her age are busy working & partying.

But she did it!

Rhi has shown what determination she has, & great commitment to and passion for EFT. She supported many others in her cohort along the way, bringing the community together.

What I most love is that someone so young as Rhi is certified in EFT & offering it to other young people too.

As a trainer this has been one of my goals, to see more and more young people (and they always seem to be women) learning, embracing and using EFT Tapping to help themselves, and even better to help others.

So thanks Rhi, we have helped each other with a goal in you achieving this milestone.

I look forward to seeing you blossom and grow in your own practice. If you can do this, you can do anything!

Her own intro:

I discovered EFT/tapping about 3 years when I was lucky enough to receive a free session from Jules herself. I was shocked with how effective the results were & quickly realised the importance of using a somatic approach.

I finished my studies at university completing a Bachelor of Social Welfare. I started working at headspace at a Youth Access Clinician & found my love with working with young people.

After spending time working in talk therapy, I quickly realised how re-traumatizing it was for young people to come into the clinic & share their experiences, only to be referred to another service & have to tell their story all over again.

What I love about EFT is how gentle & safe it is. It is truly a trauma informed practice that gently allows the client to express without discomfort.

I love that it involves the body, it seems crazy not to as we know the body keeps score!

When using the body we can explore deeper thoughts, feelings & subconscious emotions. This helps to address the root cause, rather than just the symptoms.

I completed my EFT certification EFT with Jules October 2024. It was nothing but a supportive & positive experience. Jules is highly trained & I love her trauma informed approach to clinical EFT. I feel privileged that Jules was my trainer & mentor.

Currently, I am working as a young carer peer facilitator covering the whole region from New England to Byron Bay. I facilitate online & face to face programs for young carers who are caring for a loved one or friend.

I wish to continue working with young people in my own EFT/tapping practice, as working with young people is a chance to shape the future in a meaningful way. EFT empowers young people to reach their full potential.

Tap, Talk and Barefoot Beach Walk this morning was lovely. The weather was perfect, & we had 9 women show up at Jetty beach and 5 at the new venue Woolgoolga Beach.

The same people keep coming back at the Jetty; they are enjoying learning how to re-train their mind body systems out of fight / flight / freeze state & towards more regulation in the nervous system.

They are using tapping when they cannot sleep, when they feel anxious at work, when they are upset by a family member.

An hour of tapping on acupressure points in any way has a powerful impact on the physiology of the human body.

We focus alternately on a "negative" event, thoughts, emotions & sensations, then we balance that with noticing pleasant sounds, sights, feelings, sensations.

By doing this in a beautiful outdoor setting, in a group of other humans, people notice they are then able to absorb MORE of the natural beauty in Nature.

This tile shows the most recent research done by Dr. Peta Stapleton in 2020; a randomized controlled trial which demonstrated the effect of Clinical EFT on stress biochemistry.

They tested the salivary cortisol of participants before and after 3 different interventions.

One group did EFT Tapping in a group.
One group were given some psychoeducation on stress.
And a third group read magazines.

The EFT Tapping group experienced a reduction in salivary cortisol by 43%.

The psychoeducation group experienced a 19% reduction in cortisol - which for all my EFT mentees, goes to show how important psychoeducation is!

And the group who read magazines experienced an INCREASE in their salivary cortisol levels of 2 %.

So this research shows that what we are we doing when tapping in a group really IS beneficial, it is changing the biochemistry.

When I look at all those people this morning, basking in the sun, looking so chilled out, I am looking at bodies who are noticing the benefits of lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

I can SEE it. They can FEEL this.

It's not woo woo, it works.

This conversation is with Susan Christoffelsz, a counsellor and Certified EFT Practitioner on my team at Clinical EFT Connect.

I always find it easier to get out of my head and more into my body when I’m tapping and connecting with my body in nature.

Today was our third week of Tap, Talk and Barefoot Beach Walk.
It was cold and windy but we still had a great group of 8, including some first timers.

Three more weeks of running this here at the Jetty.

Then Renai Cravigan, who’s an EFT Practitioner on the team at Clinical EFT Connect, will start running Tap Talk & Barefoot Beach Walk at Woolgoolga Beach.
From Friday November 8. See flyer attached for details.

So there will be 2 x gorgeous beaches you can go to learn how to:

🪺 regulate your own nervous system in beautiful peaceful natural surroundings.

My Story:

Hi, I’m Jules Vandermaat from Tapping With Jules. I am an Evidence Based EFT Practitioner & Trainer, a Social Worker, and trauma therapist with 30 years of combined experience.

I first discovered EFT whilst working as a Sexual Assault Counsellor, and found it to be incredibly helpful to my clients. Prior to finding EFT, this was a hard job. Nobody wanted to talk about what had happened to them, as it made them feel really anxious to talk about “it”, and they felt so uncomfortable in their bodies.

Many had experienced being re-traumatised by having to tell their story over and over to various health professionals, in the hope of gaining some relief, only to find themselves feeling worse from the re-telling, with no real benefit gained from therapies offered.

With EFT I found a safe, gentle, fast and effective way to work with my clients, in which they felt in control of the process. They were relieved to find they did not even have to say what had happened to them in order for the techniques to work. But many found that by using the “gentle techniques” in approaching the traumatic memories, they were then more comfortable talking about things afterwards.
