FloodFree Tilting Barriers are passive flood protection systems that harness the principles of buoyancy; no mechanical intervention required. With a minimal footprint of shallow depth, they’re ideal for “drop-in” installations within existing infrastructure.

At this new 'greenfield' site, a concealed passive flood barrier has been installed early in the construction phase; the ideal time for integration when permanent vertical installation below the high-traffic pedestrian walkway is required.

This community-based flood protection solution is 'passive' or self-activating. As water enters the drain at the front of the barrier, the barrier rises automatically using buoyancy principles, creating a watertight seal that protects the entrance from water ingress without the need for manual intervention or power.

Flood Resilient Hydropower Station

FloodFree Demountable Flood Barriers have been installed for the Brenwe Hydropower Station in Malekula Vanuatu, designed to protect the renewable energy powerhouse from water ingress following cyclones, intense rainfall, and high-velocity river flows.

Protecting Electrical Infrastructure from Flood Risk

These demountable flood barriers have been deployed in front of a utility room containing high-voltage electrical systems.
