Today is R U OK? Day – a reminder of the power of a simple question. Checking in with someone can make all the difference.

While today highlights the importance of reaching out, we believe every day is the right day to check in with friends, family and loved ones. A conversation can change a life.

So take a moment – ask the question, listen, and show you care.

Day 7: Independence through Communication

On the final day of Speech Pathology Week, we celebrate how communication lays the foundation for autonomy and self-expression across all stages of life. Speech pathologists nurture independence by helping people communicate with clarity, dignity, and confidence—whether verbally, through AAC, Auslan, or other methods.

Day 6: Wellbeing through Communication

Today, we celebrate the profound connection between communication — and emotional, mental, and social wellbeing. Effective communication isn’t just about words — it’s about feeling seen, understood, and valued. Speech pathologists nurture wellbeing by helping individuals express their thoughts, share their concerns, and foster connection with others.

Day 3 Inclusion through Communication.

We’re celebrating the vital role speech pathologists play in breaking down barriers, empowering voices, and making sure everyone is included — no matter how they communicate.
Inclusion starts with listening, understanding, and supporting every form of communication — from speech and signs to AAC and beyond.

Let’s raise awareness, advocate for access, and celebrate communication in all its forms.
Because everyone deserves a voice.
