Tens machines and a huuuge birth pool!

If you are planning a home birth, a birth pool is what you need. The warmth of the water does wonders for those intense contractions. I laboured for 4 hours in the pool for my homebirth after c section, with a 6 hour labour in total. My expectation was 12+ hours (at least!!) as labour with Rosie was 19 hours 😵‍💫

Tens machines, specifically the ElleTens, are incredible. Perfect for home births or hospital births, with a boost function for an extra buzz during contractions. These are generally better suited to the earlier hours of labour or during the dreaded car ride to the hospital!

Family centred post partum care 🌹

A village is pretty much unheard of these days, but it’s what you need when you’re in the thick of it

I’ve been there, twice. I wish I had a village too! Luckily, I had my mum. She is the reason I want to be the support for other women.

My vision for this is to normalise post partum care and support for this next generation. Normalise resting, bonding and recovering. Normalise the 5-5-5 rule - 5 days in the bed, 5 days on the bed and 5 days near the bed. Normalise saying no to unhelpful visitors who expect you to host. Normalise saying yes when someone offers to wash the dishes

Our second tens machine is on its way now, ready for hire as soon as the order of electrodes arrives (eta Oct 1st). Hire is for a 6 week period, for $50 + $50 refundable bond upon return. Comes with new batteries and electrodes

Welcome!

I’m so excited to finally be ready to support women and families through the transition in to motherhood - whether it be the first time or 5th. Coming up a year post free birth after cesarean has me feeling all kinds of emotions. I dedicated myself during my second pregnancy to ensuring the transition from 1-2 was going to be a stress free as possible by making 170 individual freezer meals, which meant I didn’t have to cook for the first 12 weeks!! We all know how chaotic witching hour can be with a toddler and a newborn

My aim is to create a family based care that is all about the village that we all need but struggle to find. I bring my kiddos to play with your kiddos, I bring food, we all eat, talk, listen and support while taking the time to recover and protecting that new mum and baby love bubble - aka the mother-baby dyad. Low tox cleaning, assistance with older kids, doing washing, looking after baby so mum can shower or just being a listening ear in those first few weeks, whatever is needed is what I’m there for

Currently we have a Maxi Birth Pool and and 2 ElleTens machines for hire. For post partum care we have a sitz bath for use during visits and a few more wholistic things like naturopathic tinctures, and homeopathic remedies to be added soon

I cannot wait to support women and create this village here in Collie and the south west
