At AJM Support Work, we pride ourselves on the care, compassion and effort we bring into every single shift. Going above and beyond often comes naturally to our team because we genuinely care about the people we support.
However, it is important to talk about scope of work.
Within the NDIS, every role has clear boundaries. These are in place to protect not only our clients, but also our staff, and to ensure supports are delivered safely, ethically and consistently.
There are times where we would love to do more, to step in further, or to fix situations that fall outside of our role. But the reality is, there is only so much we can do within our scope.
Doing our best does not mean doing everything. It means doing what is safe. It means following the guidelines we are bound by. It means recognising when something needs to be escalated or handled by the appropriate service.
Our team’s safety matters.
Our physical wellbeing matters.
Our mental health matters.
No matter how much we care, we cannot put ourselves at risk.
We will always continue to show up, support, advocate and care deeply for our clients. But we will also continue to uphold the boundaries that keep everyone safe.
Safe support is good support. Always.
