This week has been quite musical in therapy sessions. I have sung to clients, sung with clients - yes they had to sing with me; used song references to explain a concept and one couple are required to listen to "The Glory of Love" (Bette Midler) each evening before doing their "relationship together time" homework. An activity aimed at developing listening to understand, presence and connection.

The Glory of Love was brought to mind as I was stating we have.. ... .... to give a little
Take a little
And let your poor heart
Break a little.

Of course,
That's the story of
That's the glory of love

Dr Christopher was present at the inaugural World S*xual Health Assembly in Porto. What a great achievement for s*xual rights, justice and health.

Official Publication of the Porto Proclamation on S*xual Health, Rights & Justice

At the first-ever World S*xual Health Assembly in Porto, Portugal, the World Association for S*xual Health brought together global leaders from UN agencies, international and regional organizations, professional societies, academic and research institutions, and professional publications. Together, they built on decades of progress while confronting the growing backlash against s*xual health and rights worldwide.

Today, the Porto Proclamation on S*xual Health, Rights, and Justice is published with the inaugural list of signatories.

This landmark document affirms that:
✨ S*xual health is integral to health and human dignity
✨ S*xual rights are fundamental human rights
✨ S*xual justice is essential for equality and inclusion

It marks a turning point - a shared agenda for global action and a powerful act of solidarity across regions, sectors, and communities.

We invite all organizations and individuals in s*xual health and rights to help amplify this message of solidarity. What happened in Porto should not stay in Porto.

Outer Barcoo: Rural and Remote Supervision

Outer Barcoo is a general supervision group for practitioners in rural and remotes areas of Australia. The group will focus on practise issues and practice issues with a rural and remote lens. Practising in rural and remote Australia has unique experiences which many urban-based therapists and supervisors do not grasp.

My career started in rural practice and I have always maintained an interest and a connection with these areas and the issues practitioners face.

The two-hour groups will focus on clinical supervision and add a professional development aspect as well.

The group is limited to six participants.

When: 3rd Wednesday of the month 1430-1630 (Zoom)

Meet our unofficial therapy dog Duke.

When not in session, Duke enjoys laying in the hallways to ensure you say hello, napping on the couches and eating cheese (in moderation of course!)

Duke is an American Staffy cross. He was a rescue dog from Save A Dog https://saveadog.org.au/

Duke is usually around the Collingwood clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so you can request his presence at reception before your session.

In addition Dr Christopher also shares:

"Often we as counsellors and educators can not share informative posts about seggs without censoring and shadow banning. However Meta is allowing exploitative and predatory seggual material to slip by."

On the surface, these 40-minute ads on Facebook and Instagram appear to be make-up tutorials. An ABC NEWS Verify investigation has uncovered how a dubious online store is using them to hawk erectile dysfunction supplements.

We pledge to keep providing women with the support and education they need to make informed decisions about their bodies and relationships.

We celebrate our team of passionate women, who as a result of noticing the gaps in their own s*xual education, went off and learned more.
Now they teach others about pleasure, consent and respectful relationships.
