Sweet Mikayla was meant to be dancing at her formal and celebrating her year six graduation tomorrow; instead, she passed away on Wednesday 3rd December 2025, taken too soon by a childhood brain tumour known as diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG).

Mikayla was a bright, vibrant, positive, and brave princess who loved to help people. Her wish was to tell other children that "brain cancer is not scary". She wanted to use her own story to encourage other families impacted by cancer.

In lieu of flowers for her farewell service, Mikayla would like to raise some funds to assist the brain cancer community. The money raised will be donated to various organisations with a goal to find a cure of DIPG, and some of the money will assist the families in need.

Gone Fishing

It is with deep sadness — and great honour — that we announce the funeral service for Song Chua Te: a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. A talented pastry chef, respected business owner, and beloved community figure, Song’s tireless charity work touched countless lives.

He will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, wisdom, and deep compassion — a legacy that will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

While our hearts ache, we imagine him now — lines cast, in peaceful waters — gone fishing.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Kids Cancer Foundation, a charity close to Song’s heart.

Western Sydney residents are being encouraged to stay on alert for symptoms of gastroenteritis, with testing and hospital data showing a significant rise in cases in recent weeks across the state.

A MESSAGE FROM NEPEAN BLUE MOUNTAINS PUBLIC HEALTH NETWORK: Enter the draw to win one of five $100 gift cards and Help Us Improve Healthcare in Our Community!

We are running a survey to hear from our community about their experiences with healthcare in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith. Have you seen Ronald?

Ronald, age 12 was last seen at St Marys about 11pm yesterday Wednesday 27 June 2024.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black trackpants and was carrying a black backpack.

He is known to frequent Mount Druitt, St Marys and Penrith.

Anyone who sees him is urged to call Nepean Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Some of us already know our darling Nhi broke her left leg without realising and it unfortunately turned septic. By the time it was finally detected she needed surgery and a complex medical regimen to treat it.

Well, after a long spell in ICU at Blacktown Hospital she has finally been released home! She’s not back at work yet but thanks everyone for their kind words and best wishes - we are seeing her this afternoon to bring her the flowers, cards and all the wonderful gifts people have left to show her we are all thinking of her.
