Gemma Steck Funeral Celebrant

Gemma Steck Funeral Celebrant With respect, care and support, I will deliver a service which reflects and celebrates the life of a loved one.

In July 2015 I completed a funeral services course. The death of a loved one is the most difficult time for close family and friends. As a funeral celebrant I visit the family and we talk about the life their loved one lead, from the very early childhood days, work life, family life, achievements, hobbies and interests. This enables me as a celebrant to put a service together which tells the story, a special story reflecting on such a life. Quite often it is not until we listen to a eulogy at a funeral that we realise how much we didn't know about our family and friends. This is a service I feel very privileged to be a part of and to be able to offer some comfort and support to my clients during this time is of the most importance to me.

Memorial rock safes keep your loved ones ashes safe and protected and you can keep them in your own garden. These rock safes can also be taken with you should you move house. For many, this takes away a lot of the stress and issues which quite often occur when trying to decide on a safe place for them. So many alternatives these days!

There are many people choosing not to have traditional chapel or church funerals these days. However, people are still having a service, even if it is sometime after a cremation. A memorial service is becoming a popular choice as it can be very distressing organising a funeral when the grief is still very raw. When it comes to burials some people are choosing to have a graveside service only. Garden funeral services are a popular alternative, however bad weather could cause issues, so a plan b indoors would have to be a must. It is always a matter of choice and your funeral director can discuss the many choices available. You are also entitled to your choice of celebrant.

Most funerals are in a chapel or church with a burial or cremation to follow and many people would have this preference, but what if you don't? That's why it's important to know there's other options. At a time of grief it's very difficult to discuss other options, but it's important to know they exist and it's just a matter of discussing it with your funeral director. There are photos on this page which display the many options available. Many people don't realise you do not have to have a funeral. Please take a look ⚘
