I met a physio who had been struggling with left shoulder pain for 5 years.
After years of trying different treatments with no lasting results, he finally found relief in just one session. 🙌

1️⃣ We discovered his shoulder pain wasn’t just a physical issue—it was tied to deep emotional stress from his past, specifically negative experiences at work and personal loss. By addressing the true cause, we were able to resolve his pain quickly. 💥

✅ No more wasting time trying every shoulder exercise or treatment out there. He now moves pain-free, without worrying about the pain returning.

2️⃣ We also taught him how to regulate his nervous system when stress arises.

✅ When you know how to calm your nervous system and process emotions, you can take control of your pain and show up as the best version of yourself.

Now, he’s back to the activities he loves, without the fear of his shoulder holding him back. 💪

If you’ve been struggling with chronic pain, DM me the word “PAIN,” and I’ll send you a link for a free 15-minute discovery call. Let’s get you back to living pain-free. 👊

Do you suffer from motion sickness?

We've noticed an increase in clients dealing with motion sickness, often unsure if there’s a solution. Fortunately, our functional neuro (brain-based) approach can help you understand and treat the root cause of your motion sickness.

Your eyes play crucial roles in vision, balance, depth perception, coordination, and regulating circadian rhythms. Often, the underlying contributors to motion sickness are issues with Cranial Nerves 3, 4, and 6, and the eye systems – saccades, vestibulo-ocular reflex, and optokinetic nystagmus.

While rehabilitation is possible, it’s important to seek proper guidance. We recommend addressing the optimal function of these cranial nerves and eye systems before beginning any rehab.

Vertigo.

Vertigo is commonly misdiagnosed and mistreated.

To truly resolve this we need a comprehensive functional neurology exam (assessing your eyes and vestibular [inner ears] system), understanding if there is an underlying immune issue (bacteria or virus) or emotional stressor that is causing the symptom of vertigo.

Do you experience vertigo?
Have you tried all the maneuvers known to humans, only to have it come back?
Book a session with .chiro for a detailed assessment to uncover the underlying cause of your vertigo symptoms.

More than just a crack.

Chiropractic adjustments, often called spinal manipulations, are procedures performed by chiropractors to treat musculoskeletal pain. The neurology behind chiropractic adjustments involves several theories and mechanisms that explain how these adjustments might affect the nervous system and overall health.

Key Neurological Concepts Behind Chiropractic Adjustments
Mechanoreceptors and proprioceptors are sensory receptors located in the joints, muscles, and skin that provide feedback about body position and movement. Chiropractic adjustments can stimulate these receptors, which may help improve joint function and reduce pain.

Pain Modulation:
Chiropractic adjustments can influence the nociceptive pathways (pathways that transmit pain signals) and neuromodulation, potentially leading to a reduction in pain perception. This can occur through the gate control theory of pain, where non-painful input (such as a chiropractic adjustment) can inhibit the transmission of pain signals to the brain.

Spinal Reflexes:
Adjustments may affect spinal reflexes, which are automatic responses to stimuli. By adjusting the spine, chiropractors may alter the reflex activity, potentially reducing muscle spasm and improving mobility.

Central Nervous System (CNS) Effects:
There is evidence suggesting that chiropractic adjustments can influence the CNS. This includes changes in brain activity and connectivity. Some studies have shown that spinal adjustments can affect the prefrontal cortex, a region of the brain involved in pain processing, motor control, and higher cognitive functions.

Biomechanical Effects:
Adjustments can restore normal joint motion and alignment, which may reduce mechanical stress and improve the function of the nervous system.

Neuroplasticity:
Chiropractic adjustments may promote neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to reorganise itself by forming new neural connections. This can be beneficial for motor control, pain reduction, and overall nervous system function.

Just a reminder: If you’ve been told that a weak muscle is the cause of your pain, it might be worth seeking a second opinion. It’s important to get a comprehensive diagnosis to understand the root cause of your pain and ensure proper treatment.

Lymphatic drainage therapy can extend beyond bodywork.

We recently had a client who had been enduring allergies for an extended period. His primary sensitivities were to dust mites and pollen from a particular tree outside his house.

He would lament that every morning, as he left his house and walked past the tree, his symptoms would flare up. He'd have a runny nose and go through half a box of tissues a day 🤧. Additionally, whenever he cleaned and vacuumed his house and room, he'd experience another flare-up of symptoms.

With advanced lymphatic therapy, we can assist the body's system in desensitising/downregulating these allergens.

Are you suffering from allergies?

We can help!

The nervous system keeps score!

Here is a prime example of this. A 55-year-old client came to me with ongoing neck & shoulder pain for 8+ years. His previous treatments involved muscle work around the neck and shoulder and some rehab, which he found helpful for a short period, but symptoms always returned.

Through our assessment, we were able to find a link to his appendix scar and some inhibited muscles around the shoulder and neck. Additionally, we palpated some lymph congestion around the shoulder, the scar, and pathways along it.

After working on the scar tissue and clearing the lymph pathway, we were able to significantly improve neck and shoulder pain, and the client has now had his 3-month follow-up without symptoms.

Treat the cause, not the symptom!

Motus

We are proud to announce that Motus is now open for trade at our new location in Mortlake. In the lead up, there have been countless hours of work to bring you something special to share and experience with us. Our goal from day one was to map out how we were going to make a change to the current health industry. We have grown from a backyard granny flat with 1 room and a waiting room, shared by 2 practitioners, to what we feel is a completely sleek space dedicated to tomorrow’s you. We are ever grateful that we can finally share our dream and reality with you all. Our brand is governed by three core pillars that we are dedicated to sharing with you in every interaction: 1-on-1 manual therapy from expert practitioners, education and movement. In our journey to shape up the health space, we have carefully designed and curated a fresh unique look that redefines attention to detail. But don’t take our word for it! Come and say hi and see for yourself. We are excited to reveal our vision and share our progress with our growing family.
