One of my favourite things:
finishing a face to face consultation with a client by walking out into my garden and sending them home with a paper bag full of freshly picked herbs.

Tulsi, in particular, being the ‘queen of herbs’, and the abundant queen in my garden, is the most often shared. I feel she loves being so adored and appreciated.

She never stops flowering; she’s alway abuzz with bees; her smell uplifts and delights people and I love seeing their faces as they make her acquaintance.

My tulsi plants now have babies all around the place, from Queensland to Victoria and those babies have babies now. She’s made countless cups of tea and soothed many a tired and troubled soul.

I’m no sewer 🧵but on this International Women’s Day, I unpacked the old sewing machine I inherited decades ago; popped it on my clinic table; rummaged through my fabrics basket (that I havent used in another lot of decades, found the felt I was looking for; and with the help of a pattern roughly made using last week’s newspaper, quickly stitched together a teapot warmer for our French press.

A most satisfying pastime on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Now the pots of yum herbal tea we’ll be serving at the , For the Love of Gaia, will keep warm.

Wonder how many more I need to make? 🤔One pot won’t go far with the thirsty herb nerds we’ll have at the conference

So many lovely people have been asking me if I will be teaching my online classes again this year:
🌿 The Heart and Art of Traditional Herbal Medicine
and
✨ Introduction to Tissue Salts

I am definitely going to offer them again!

I love sharing this knowledge and can’t imagine not teaching - but - it will have to wait until later this year.

So much is going on right now and I want to wait until there is space … time to breathe.. time to pause.. before I offer them.

And the timing will be wonderful, I will be refreshed and nourished after a wonderful plant spirit retreat in the south of France with my beautiful friend and mentor, Jacqui Bushell. And I know in my bones, my teaching will reflect this.

Happy Herbalist at Work 😊🌿

Thought I’d share a few rare pics of me doing what I love. That is, a small portion of what I love - pouring the herbs for a patient’s mix.

The true love really lives in the consultation process as you’re learning about the person and figuring out which of our amazing herbal helpers will be just the ticket for them and then ‘designing’ the final formula.

I learned my craft from the wonderful Dorothy Hall so this will go into a 50 ml bottle for ‘drop dosing’, a gentle yet very effective way to prescribe.

I have very few any photos of me at work but recently I’ve had a wonderful student, Oliv, in clinic and she kindly took these for me

2) the cheesy smile as I try not to look to posey - think I’m from the generation who’s still a bit camera shy

First day back in clinic and I’m excited to be working with my beautiful patients again; it’s such rewarding work and an immense privilege as well.

Right now I’m sitting contemplating my many blessings as I watch the garden and weather while waiting for my next patient to arrive.

And of course I’m posting this - not often on SM these days - but I thought I’d pop in today as I’m so pleased to be back in clinic; it’s an exciting new moon on Monday and I’m ready for all sorts of things to unfold this year.

Hope your year has started well and that you are looking forward to wonders unfolding for you too.

And that’s a wrap for Clinic 2025 💚

My cooler box is full of packages of herbs, creams and tissue salts waiting for people to pop by today and collect. On the chair in the clinic a few more ready for collection later this week.

It’s a good feeling, I’ve made it.

Sending so much gratitude and love to all the beautiful folk I’ve worked with this year: it’s such a privilege to sit with you; to be entrusted with your health and your stories; to make herbal medicines for you and to be witness to you as you grow in health.

Wishes for a wonderful Christmas and New Year and may hope and light be strong in your hearts
