Was fortunate enough to receive a VIP invite to NSW Parliament House last night for special screening of “Birth Time” ahead of the NSW Government releasing it’s response to the Birth Trauma Inquiry.

So appreciative of all the amazing women (and also men!) who have been involved in helping to fight to humanise maternity care!

This issue is everyone’s problem, it affects ours mothers, sisters, aunts, cousins and most importantly the birthing women of the future, our daughters!!! Not to mention the flow on effect to all children in our society.

Welcome baby Izuchukwu (Izzy)

This was an extra special birth for me to support as I have been good friends with Izzy’s mamma Chidi since high school.

When I was asked to support this pregnancy and birth journey I felt blessed and grateful, for me birth work is so much more than a job but a calling and being able to have a positive impact on any woman’s experience makes me so happy and even more so when it is a close friend.

Sometimes we have the blessing of labour being straightforward, however this labour was truely tricky and challenging. Your mamma was thrown many curve balls and in true Chidi style worked her way through each moment with a calm and pragmatic approach. Your dad was an absolute rockstar, a wonderful supportive partner who fought hard to advocate for your mammas wants and needs.

I already have so much respect for both your parents but sharing this journey with them has cemented everything I already knew, you arrived late on a Sunday evening and we are all so thrilled to finally meet you.

I’m looking so forward to watching you grow over the years and to see Chidi continue to morph into the amazing and caring mother we always knew she would be.

Welcome to the world Sienna 💜

Such an incredible birth! Your mamma was told late in her pregnancy that you had decided to flip upside down and present yourself breech (bum first, instead of head first)

We went through all the options and after lots of deliberation and research your mum decided to go ahead with a vaginal delivery at The Royals Breech Clinic.

That night you decided it was time to meet your parents, your dad was such a calming presence and made sure that your mum had everything she needed as she laboured.

Supporting this labour I could feel the inner strength and perseverance, your mum was calm, collected but working extremely hard through her strong surges, as the sun came up you were born. A textbook breech delivery!

It has been so lovely getting to know your family, especially your little fur siblings 🐶 🐶 I am so thrilled for your parents, what a perfect birth story even with things changing last min.

Welcome to the world sweet baby Maggie 💜 isn’t she just the loveliest wee babe.

I have just adored getting to know you and your parents these last few months.
I am so proud of both of them but especially of your mamma, your labour and birth threw her a few curve balls and she was able to take it in her stride and bring your earthside.

The love your little family has for one another is so special and you have a wonderful villiage of friends and family that will be there as you grow, I’m looking forward to hearing all the updates from your mum and seeing you continue to develop into the sweet and sassy babe that you are.

I absolutely adore this picture, this mamma was in the midst of her labour and was at a point where the TENS machine wasn’t feeling as effective as it had been be so she jumped in the bath.

The water gave her instant relief and the reason I love this photo is because it captures the calm, many women find beautiful moments of calm during thier labours and water therapy can definitely help with this.

I’m happy for Instagram too because it allows us a space to share images like this, I bet you would never have thought labour could be like this unless you have witnessed it because all we ever see in the movies is women screaming and shouting!

Welcome earthside little Arthur 🐣

What an incredible journey your mamma has gone through to achieve her VBAC.
After an intense and reasonably quick labour you made your arrival!

I got a text around 9pm saying we think labour might be starting, by 2am I had come to the house and your mum was working hard through some very intense surges, we soon headed to hospital where your dad jumped in the tub to help support your mamma through the big transition at the end of labour.

By sunrise we knew that today would be your birthday, and not long after you were here 💜

I have had such a nice time getting to know you all and hanging out with your older (although still little) brother Elliot. You have such a warm and caring family around you!

Attended the “Pain, Power and Physiology of Birth” workshop today, surrounded by some amazing birth workers!

However my heart feels heavy, we all deserve the absolute best of our birthing experience and many of us are not being supported by our current maternity system.

Please fellow women, do research, get independent childbirth education, hire a doula, make sure your partner is on the same page, take responsibility for your birth, there is so much potential for your birth and transition into motherhood to be utterly amazing!!

Very excited to be launching my childbirth education class "The Birth Series" this month in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.

This has been a long time in the making and I am thrilled to be able to expand my passion for pregnancy and birth into this course work and continue to help birthing families get the best out of their birth experience!
Classes are held one weekend of each month with our first session starting on Feb 17th. Please like and share with your pregnant friends 🙂

Welcome little ones
Cassian and Raphael! 💙💙

We have been awaiting your arrival for some time, your mamma first called me very early on in her pregnancy as she knew having twin’s automatically put her into a higher risk category and felt that they could really benefit from my support.

I am blown away by how your parents handled everything that was thrown at them during this pregnancy, there were definitely some curve balls that came thier way!

Watching your family juggle a new set of twins and a toddler with such patience and love is just so heart warming. You boys are very lucky to be apart of such a special family unit!

I can’t believe how quickly you’re both growing but am so happy that you’re thriving 🐣🐣

As the holiday season comes to an end, I’m just so thankful to be doing something that I love so much, I am really so bloody blessed to be able to meet such wonderful families and support them through this huge right of passage.

This work is so fulfilling, I go to sleep each night knowing I’m using my time on this earth for good and doing my best to give back.

I hope you all have a beautiful 2024, can’t wait for another full year of welcoming new souls 🐣😍

Welcome baby Emile! You made an early entrance into this world, born a day after my birthday!

I have absolutely loved getting to know you and your family, from our very first education sessions I knew your mamma was going to rock her labour. A little glitch in the plan when you decided to come early and I was unable to make it to your birth 😵‍💫 however my amazing cover Lauren jumped in!

The labour much like your personality was pretty calm and chilled! The hospital staff didn’t even believe your mamma was in labour until she started uncontrollably pushing you out.

Your dad has been super involved and supportive throughout and I love the jovial energy he brings to the table.

We are now 60 hours in with postpartum support and you have definitely stolen my heart little Emile 🩵🩵🩵
