π Have you heard there's a new Bill (proposed law changes) about the NDIS in Parliament?
π Sam here - I've had a good read and talked to lots of people about it.
π PIAC (Public Interest Advocacy Centre) wrote a paper about it.
π¨ They're worried about some parts of the Bill.
π I am too.
π I think that the way the Bill is written means the changes in there could be done in a way that's great for participants, but stuff could also change in ways that are bad for us.
π€ I don't think the Bill is clear enough.
π It relies on some new Rules to explain how to do the changes for participants.
β But we don't have the Rules yet.
π€ The Government says that the Rules will be co-designed.
π§ I like that and I want to trust that, but I also think that some of this stuff should be in the proposed new NDIS Act (which is like the boss of all law), and not in the Rules.
π I made this table using lots of information, including the paper from PIAC. It explains some of the changes in a simple way and why I think we need to do more work on the Bill.
π There are some changes in the Bill that I think are good too.
π€ You can make up your own mind.
