📜 Have you heard there's a new Bill (proposed law changes) about the NDIS in Parliament?
👀 Sam here - I've had a good read and talked to lots of people about it.
📃 PIAC (Public Interest Advocacy Centre) wrote a paper about it.
🚨 They're worried about some parts of the Bill.
😟 I am too.
🔍 I think that the way the Bill is written means the changes in there could be done in a way that's great for participants, but stuff could also change in ways that are bad for us.
🤔 I don't think the Bill is clear enough.
📏 It relies on some new Rules to explain how to do the changes for participants.
❓ But we don't have the Rules yet.
🤝 The Government says that the Rules will be co-designed.
🧐 I like that and I want to trust that, but I also think that some of this stuff should be in the proposed new NDIS Act (which is like the boss of all law), and not in the Rules.
📊 I made this table using lots of information, including the paper from PIAC. It explains some of the changes in a simple way and why I think we need to do more work on the Bill.
👍 There are some changes in the Bill that I think are good too.
🤔 You can make up your own mind.
