Osteoporosis causes bones to become weaker and more likely to break — but it’s not an inevitable part of ageing.

You can protect your bones by:
🥛 Including calcium-rich foods like yoghurt, milk, and leafy greens
🌞 Getting safe sun exposure for vitamin D or supplementing it (ask your GP about the best supplements for Vitamin D)
🏋️ Doing weight-bearing exercise (like walking or strength training)
🚭 Avoiding smoking and limiting alcohol

If you’re over 50 or have risk factors (family history, low body weight, early menopause, long-term steroid use), talk to your GP about a bone density scan.
